Amazing track, the singer is also the composer for this track (and many other Xenoblade tracks throughout the trilogy), we don't speak about her that much so I wanted to point it out! Manami Kiyota is fantastic
The composer for this track, Manami Kiyota, handled about half of the game's soundtrack. Most of her compositions were cutscene and area music. Her contributions were greatly reduced in later entries, but she then went on to compose the final boss theme for Future Redeemed (the third game's DLC) essentually bringing the whole thing full circle.
Let's go, can't wait for the Xenoblade playthrough! This is one of the themes that really stuck with me as a child and got me into the Metal genre. What's also really interesting is that the haunting vocals actually gain a new meaning when you play the song in reverse.
XBC fans say that a lot, and I tried the game as well, and I could not get into it. The gameplay simply isn't to my liking, and the game make a major design flaw that JRPG's often make, mandatory grind to progress the story. Having grind in a game is fine, but it should always be optional for the side content.
@@arjanzweers6542 You really don't need to grind in Xenoblade. The game throws EXP at you. If you are losing a required fight, the problem is almost definitely not being too low level. It will likely be either a problem with your setup (equipment, arts, gems, active party) or your execution (arts combos, aggro management, chain attack structure).
You don't really need to grind. Just pick up all the sidequests you can, and you will do a good chunk of them without even trying because they're just "get x number of y item" or "beat a enemy b times." You'll be doing that anyway, so it's just free experience. Hope this helps if you decide to pick the game back up.@arjanzweers6542
@@turtersvongenbu not gonna disagree that this person probably had a sub-optimal setup, but levels are far more important (especially early on like most other jrpgs) in xenoblade. i seriously dislike how the "danger levels" associated with the color on the enemy names work mechanically. i've done a low level run by using dolphin gecko codes to adjust exp values so i could do the quests and not become overpowered instantly, and when everything is balanced it feels so good. however, more casual players who are just walking past most enemies, upgrading less useful arts, not min-maxing gems, not optimal equipment will struggle far more with higher level enemies ESPECIALLY early on. it makes sense why they'd view it as a beginner grind-trap so to speak. i mean, it's still essentially their own fault for avoiding the game part of the video game. in epic battle fantasy 3-5 the developer balanced the games around the idea that the player is fighting everything on each screen at least once, not just the mandatory ones. but even then, the harder fights will scale to your level. you just miss out on weapon and skill upgrades. it's funny if someone complains about grind in those games because then you know they were just avoiding the gameplay that makes up the... game. it's a bit harder to blame in this situation though, because the game doesn't really tell you what to fight and it's way more story oriented. quests are so "sidey" that maybe you don't want to kill all the random wild animals and just want to see more story. it's not like shulk and friends are bringing up how they almost got gored by a giant ardun in gaur plains while doing some random side quest during the main cutscenes. lol sorry for a giant wall of text. xenoblade 1 is one of my favorite games, and the only xenoblade game i actually like playing. mostly just wanted to bring up the case for people who are more interested in the story and characters than the gameplay. i don't believe you can get the same feelings from a "game movie all cutscenes" youtube video than what you'll feel actually playing the game, and what i described above may make it harder for people to want to push on playing it.
Definitive edition is the exact same game with updated graphics and an extra epilogue section at the end of the game so you're good to play that one And in terms of no one sending the og ost I'm not sure as to why I usually prefer the og version with some exceptions like Mechanical Rhythm but I think it's less that people prefer the Definitive edition to a fault and more just sending the newer version of the music since that's the one most people would think of. Like how I'm pretty sure the first One Winged Angel request on the channel wasn't og it was Advent or Rebirth if I remember correctly.
Most of the definitive tracks are just more complete. Esp for someone who didnt play the original release, they just lack something that definitive provides

God if someone could combine the those aspects of both together that would be the perfect version of this song. Oh and have that whirly sound from the original in there as well. Now listen to Alpha the Divine from Future Redeemed.
I think there’s not too much «fighting» about which version of the Xenoblade 1 soundtrack is better because Definitive Edition allows you to switch to the original soundtrack pretty much whenever... I imagine that’s at least part of it.
Better yet it lets you set combat and non combat music separately if you wanted. Other games that's lets you use og music as an option is usually a blanket swap, all or nothing.

Okay, in case no-one else has explained it yet, a quick overview of the Xenoblade games: The first game, Xenoblade Chronicles, was released for the Wii. It was followed by Xenoblade Chronicles X (the only game I haven't played) on the WiiU, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on the Switch. Then, we got a remake of the first game for the Switch, with improved graphics, music tracks and menu, they also added an epilogue called "Future Connected", which had not been part of the original game. This was then followed by Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The first game blew me away, replacing Baten Kaitos as my new favourite game of all times. The Wii had crappy graphics, and they focused on other things than nice character models, but the environments looked stunning. When I saw them again in the DE, my jaw dropped several times at the sheer beauty of everything.
When you play Xenoblade, where can I find your playthrough? Really interested to see what you think of the game and especially the music for each area!
The musics of xenoblade ff6 and ff9 are my top 3 i think ! (And im soooooo wishing that one day you give FF6 a chance ! Im confident since you did Chrino trigger). Peace !
If you think this is all about a simple straight foward rhythm taken to a incredible extreme of grandeur.... You should hear Alpha (complete version) from xenoblade 3
I kinda wish they remix from XBC3’s DLc made it in too. But I believe it’s a different name and it’s relatively new so I get not having it, or even it being on your radar. However it’ll be perfect if you ply through all the games after finishing one because it ties in so damn well.
The reason you've never really heard that kind of Xenoblade tracks is that like in most Xeno games they are used for moments/battles/areas that are either meant to be religious, mystical or spiritual in some way. From what I can remember you only got fighting themes or the endings as requests for Xenoblade so far. But you have definitely heard this kind of tracks from Xenogears or Xenosaga before. They basically operate in the same way for the use of these kinds of tracks. What languages the vocals are in depends on the track. In every Xeno game when you have a vocal track it can be japanese, it can be english, it can be latin, or it can be gibberish arranged to sound like a real language. This one is gibberish as far as I'm aware.
I don't think there are any japanese songs actually, at least not in game. A couple had japanese versions released but even the japanese games used the songs in english
DO NOT listen to the final boss theme of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC, Future Redeemed. It is awesome, yes. It is everything I wanted it to be, yes. DO NOT listen to it. Play the series, doing Future Redeemed last - and hear that music _then and there._
I'd be glad if he were to not listen to any music from the games anymore until he starts and finishes the trilogy but it's inevitable. Just my personal opinion, definitely not what should happen, but it's my opinion.
IMO the original soundtrack is superior in almost every circumstance. You can hear each individual part much better where the DE soundtrack tends to muddle the muxing and makes huge changes to what voice is emphasized in some songs. At the very least, the DE completely butchered You Will Know Our Names for sure.

The musics of xenoblade ff6 and ff9 are my top 3 i think ! (And im soooooo wishing that one day you give FF6 a chance ! Im confident since you did Chrino trigger). Peace !
If you haven't heard it yet, I recommend "Incoming!" from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Basically Wii was midi and DE is now orchestrated
**piano intensifies**
The best song from Xenoblade, period
If you think this is all about a simple straight foward rhythm taken to a incredible extreme of grandeur.... You should hear Alpha (complete version) from xenoblade 3
I kinda wish they remix from XBC3’s DLc made it in too.
But I believe it’s a different name and it’s relatively new so I get not having it, or even it being on your radar.
However it’ll be perfect if you ply through all the games after finishing one because it ties in so damn well.
I mean, calling it a remix is underselling it a bit, it's definitely a totally new song, just heavily inspired by this one.
LETS GO
oooooo switch time
The final boss, in game, the boss is almost GOD. So that song show me feeling a little bit sacred
Leess goooo👍
Xenofans, can we agree that he MUST listen to "Riki the legendary HeroPon" song!!! lol
Xenoblade Definitive Edition is just a Remaster of the game with more content to it and some quality of life changes.
I Love this Song OG and New Verion. But I Linke The Xenoblade 3 Future Redeemed Verion way Better Hope You Hear it soon Jesse.
It's reyn time
i don't think i can point out the differences between the original and the new version...
The original battle themes have that kind of aggression that DE doesn't completely capture.
Next time listen "incoming" by XC2
Fun fact, the original Nier was released 1 month before the original Xenoblade.
I'd be glad if he were to not listen to any music from the games anymore until he starts and finishes the trilogy but it's inevitable. Just my personal opinion, definitely not what should happen, but it's my opinion.
the god game trilogy, they're just that good
Honestly I prefer the music from the original but the remastered version does look nicer
while some are better in the definite edition, i mostly prefere the original, choices of instruments, impact, and so on
IMO the original soundtrack is superior in almost every circumstance. You can hear each individual part much better where the DE soundtrack tends to muddle the muxing and makes huge changes to what voice is emphasized in some songs. At the very least, the DE completely butchered You Will Know Our Names for sure.
