Can I ask, do you worry about phase rotation at all with the steep EQing you use on the synth and bass layers? Or do you just generally use linear phase?

No I don't worry about it massively, as long as you can hear the element that you've EQ'd sounding fine (in mono too), there is nothing to worry about
