i love how people backseat and use hindsight to prove their point when mr. streamer was doing the objectively correct play given the number of units he has that could be 3-stars if he hits. +2 3-stars are better than a potential 2-star legendary with no items. how hard is that to understand lmaooo
Exactly. 2 stars Wukong and Rakan without items don't make much of the difference. If they used hindsight to argue, boxbox could have also said "See, I ended up didn't hit any crazy items for the legendaries anyway". Even when you get to 9, there is no gurantee that he could 100% hit both of his 2 star legandaries. He still can miss and it happens all the time, even without anyone competing for those legendaries. Some of chat wanted to play for a safe result but Boxbox tried to play for the 1st. He wanted to take the risk for higher reward then obviously he also knew the outcome when he didn't hit. Even after explaining that they still tried to double down and complained when he got annoyed. Of course anyone will be annoyed when there is a huge amount of backseating. Who would like to have a bunch of strangers coming in their stream and rubbing in their face "Seeeeeeeee I told you". It's just so weird how some people can't take a no for an answer and got mad when poeple get annoyed at them. Can't just be happy with "Agree to disagree" and move on. People have some biggest ego I swear.

As a new emerald 4 player, I can concur that Mr Box was correct in his idea, only critique I can honestly say is maybe go 9 after the zoe 3* as hindsight 20/20 but like even that's not necessarily the 100% right thing to do. TFT is a game of chance, and you have to take the best possible outcome not always the safest possible outcome. Even if he went 9 he probably still would've gotten MAYBE a second. With better fight RNG he could've gotten first because of his decision making alone, whereas if he went 9 there was 0 chance of him getting first, best he could have gotten would've been a second, but probably a third.
I'm not saying your conclusion is wrong about whether to stay on 8 and roll or go 9, but HOLY COW was that a bad way to argue it. Your point was "if I stay and hit, it's a 1st. If I go 9, I lock in a top 2". That's apples and oranges. You hit mildly, which got a top 2. A horrendous no-hit roll might have been only top 4 though (pulling numbers from ass, it might have been better). I'm of the opinion you'll never hit amazingly because once you start hitting some of them, you'll have to sell others for bench space, which happened here, but it's whatever.
