    Hello @SLIGHT_! Great video. I unfortunately had an accident and am changing the front forks. Maybe you know? Will the forks from the 2022 model fit in the 2018? (CMX500). Excellent Video - I actually did this last weekend with your video teacking me ... one question ... did you use any thread lock? and if so where?

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  Рік тому +1

      You are to use thread lock on items they don’t torque or if it calls for it. I use lock tight on many items yet most these bolts have a torque spec. None call for thread lock.
      That said… I use a little lock tight (blue) on the front fender bolts as I have no spec I can find. All others I torque.
      How did you find this job?

      @@SLIGHT_ nice and easy actually. I do however wish Honda would use better quality hex screws. I rounded one of the mudguard bolts when tightening it down. So the next time i have to take it off will be a nightmare

    Hey I know this is probably a silly question, but I've got a 2019 model rebel. Any idea if this kit will have fitment issues? As far as i can tell the forks look about the same. Cheers!

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  10 місяців тому +1

      The forks changed slightly in 2020, by this I mean there is a ridge to accept the oem gaiter kit. The 2019 will accept the kit installed in this video, yet the fitment of the oem kit is slightly off.

    Do the gaiters have ventilation hole on it? I had gaiters installed but the fork push all air out and it get compressed to the fork all the time, even without ties. I am afraid it will have impact to the fork seal.

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  Рік тому

      Interesting question. Short answer would be no they don’t have a vent hole.
      I’ve had these on mine for 40plus km. With no issues to the fork seals. Did you go with the oem Honda boots or aftermarket. If aftermarket… what kit?

    • @def-vlog
      @def-vlog Рік тому

      @@SLIGHT_ it’s not oem. I got it from the previous rebel owner. I’m thinking to make some tiny holes but I’m afraid it will allow dust to came in and collect them inside. I didnt know if Honda had oem boots. Should probably replace them with oem. Glad I found your channel. Your videos really help me out.

    • @SLIGHT_
      @SLIGHT_  Рік тому

      @@def-vlog the oem kit is for the 2020 and newer models. That specific kit only uses the zip ties to the top.
      As for adding holes to your current set up. I would replace the lower zip ties and keep them slightly loose (if you are concerned about those seals) it shouldn’t be air tight, but tight enough for them to stay in place. If that makes sense.
