pretty sure online is just bots with real players name. in the bowser one where the floor falls out from below you, everyone moves in sync other than you. they all start moving and end moving at the same exact time.

The game takes a lot of inspiration from recent MP games and makes them really good ontop of their own creativity from Super MP.
