They are Android's strengths: moving icons within a thumbs reach, app drawers (hidden) for clean look, and an IR blaster like the V20 (reason I won't buy an S7 or N7). Thank you 😄

For me S7 Edge is the best Camera phone now , because it's focus extremely fast then any other phone . But for video recording I still prefer iPhone 7 Plus , btw dual camera not just deliver good quality when zoom in , it's also make the phone more Badass lol

I loved the comments you made on the colors of the display and how if it isn't made for the display it won't look right. I can never get anyone to understand that!
The photos capture a wider range of colors; does this mean they'll look oversaturated in any way on other sRGB displays?
+Aden J Purcell a wide gamut photo on an sRGB display will actually be opposite. It will look washed out because the mapping will be wrong. The saturations will extend farther than the display can produce so it will only show saturations up to a certain point. I think though that it depends on how Apple tags the images. It's hard to say until I try it. If it has been done intelligently then the images should look fine

The Note 7 still looks more pleasing, it does better in low light. There's already a few comparison videos out there. The gap has gotten closer so props to apple, but Samsung just knows how to make a good camera.

Back in 2011, I switched from the Iphone to the Infuse 4G. I love the expandable memory, the Super AMOLED Display, and the bigger screens. Especially after I went to the Note 2. I'm never going back to the Iphone. However, I really like how Apple made a 5.5", 1920×1080p, Full HD Display. I played around with the 6 Plus, and the 6S Plus. I really like them a lot. I think the Iphone 7 Plus is an interesting upgrade. The missing headphone jack would probably be the feature that would bother me the most. However, I have a Blue Tooth Head Set. I only keep a wired headphone set as a backup. Cool video, Erica! Thanks for posting
As you are underwhelmed by the 7plus, your review is underwhelming. 1. The camera lenses are wide-angle and telephoto; not regular and telephoto. 2. Wider color aids in 4k viewing, not meant to be super-surfer of youtube. 3. HIGHLY WATER-RESISTANT. 4. 256Gb of resident storage. 5. 3Gb of RAM. These last 4 points alone are such an advance most users who use video recording/4K or itunes storage will love it. For the first time you can have your phone in the same room you shower without fear of oxidizing your motherboard....i.e. take a phone call while soaked....Lastly this is a phone you could keep for years and have all you'll need. If you are truly bothered by the update software for the camera and feel the engineers have rushed it why did you buy two iphone 7's; don't bother to update btw, if you aren't lying to us...lol.
I really am happy that you enjoy this iPhone as much as I do, but she did say it wasn't a full review. It's just an unboxing and she will post the full review later.

Nice quick review. You are one of the few who actually takes time talking about the colurs (gamma and stuff) :) Apple sure are rushing out all those models now. Not sooner you got the 6s you get the 7. And by time you get the 7s, 8 is just around the corner.
All im hoping is that the previous models (mainly 6+s) will fall in price. It is still stupid expensive.

Honestly, I'm fine with my 6s Plus. I'm not in a business where my phone has to take pictures 'a little' better in the dark, or have 'a little' better performance, or have 'a little' bit of a new design. I wonder what will be upgraded in the 7s.

***** oh yeah I've seen the new V20 LG hit a home run with that device, then again the V10 was also a very good/uniquely designed device. Another good design is Xperia XZ imo

Sorry to say this, but you're wrong. There isn't empty space where the headphone jack was. There is necessary hardware there for the new home button, as well as a microphone and if I'm not mistake, also hardware for the motherboard and lighting connector.
Hi Erica, unboxing. Normally I hate unboxing videos. This didn't feel like one. I have the 6s and I updated to the 7 solely for more storage. All the other improvements are just gravy to me. I'll be looking forward to your full review.

for me, its not and a big waste of money... its better to change a phone yearly rather than changing everytime a phone brand of your preference releases a new model, and no i didnt mean that the iphone 7 is not worth it, it actually is worth it because of everything new the only thing that ruined it is no jack.
But if your rich, go ahead(its not my waste anyway), the iphone 7 is a good phone and all but without a jack.
i mean, im not rich, i changed from a huawei mate s to a samsung galaxy s7 edge i had the huawei mate s for about 7 months and it still works, just the screen is a bit scratched from the sand from the beach.

I changed from a local brand smartphone(cherry mobile w900) to a galaxy note 4.. but srsly I can't afford many things because I'm a kid and I just save and save money until I have enough money to buy my own. I can pretty much buy a s7edge/Note7 now but I'm not allowed to.. parents said need verification meaning I need to get good grades 1st before they approve

that haptic home button is horrid to use
I got used to it after a hour, it's totally fine.
A protective case, on the phone, would help the finger, find the Home button, on the iPhone 7, like my Otterbox case. Otherwise, in the dark, it would be tricky, without a case. With the Otterbox case on the phone, the iPhone 7's button is the better one. I wished, there were a Back button, and a Menu button next to the Home Button though. Would make use of that huge bezel, at the bottom.
It feels the same as the old home button, it just doesn't depress, how is it harder to find?
I hate it when I forget its inactive without skin contact, I used to love being able to press the button with my fingernail.

Short answer. Mechanical buttons break.
Long answer. China. My understanding is China has a real hangup with mechanical buttons and them breaking. And they go out of their way to use things like Assistive Touch to avoid using the home button. And Apple really really wants to sell more phones in China.
It would of been a huge leap if apple put a home button in the software digitally rather then making a non physical home button with a taptic feed back engine with a emulated click.

Watching on my 6s Plus waiting for the 8. time come. Almost got the 7 plus but thankfully they were back ordered of course so I passed. Glad I did because besides the camera and like 0.03 seconds faster, it's like the same as the 6s Plus.

@mr nobody to be honest the last few generations of flagships, no matter from wich manufactur, are all so fast that i didn't even notice a performance difference anymore when switch to a new generation flagship. so im never really impressed with new and faster chips anymore as i know in real life use there will be barley any difference. smartphones came to the point where they just overkill it with there specs.

Yea Note 7 even with the issues is better than this crap. my wife got the 7. she came from an iPhone 6. even coming from a 6, this was a non sense upgrade. ios10 brought enough features for the average consumer.

So I had a 6 plus. Wasn't gonna upgrade until the 8 but friend talked me into a note 7..we all know how that ended. I really liked the note but missed the smoothness n battery life of my 6 plus. Replaced the note 7 with a 7 plus. Coming from the 6 plus it's a decent upgrade. Display looks better, better camera(but not worth an upgrade had I still had my 6 plus after the note situation I would of just reactivated it until the 8 next year). What l like most that my 6 plus didn't have is 3D Touch. Besides that no big differences imo. Biggest plus to me is the incredible speed of this phone not to say my 6 plus was slow. But it took going back to android for two months to appreciate the speed and lack of lag with apple. I had forgotten about the lag on android since I hadn't owned one since my first smartphone the galaxy s4. Revisiting android also made me realize just how good apples are with conserving battery during standby. That note would just drain in standby basically had to disable everything to slow the drain. Guess that's y it's good to walk on the other side of the fence every once and a while. It allows one to see the pros/cons of both sides and determine where they want to be more accurately. My recommendation..if u have a 6/6plus(n esp if it's the s) do not upgrade. You'll enjoy the upgrade but it isn't worth it this year. Save the money you were gonna spend on the upgrade and just apply it towards getting the highest level iPhone 8 next year. Fingers crossed for the OLED displays next year. Saturated it may be but that note 7's display UNMATCHED. Hopefully we can experience a great display on the iPhone 8 next year.

The Apple IPhone 7 cost nearly 1600 dollars which is an insane price for a phone that in many was 8s not better than a Huawei Honour 8. As incredible as it seems it's true.

I am using Iphone 6s, but what you introduce, I can see: camera, it is a bit difficult, I think it is cute, sound is stereo, taptic engine, bright, battery,...enough I can buy it, and absolutely the old Iphone is my wife.

I don't mind bezels. I don't want to have to hold the phone with my fingertips just to avoid touching the sides of the screen. However, this thing has no style whatsoever to it. The placement of the cameras feel awkward. They surround an outdated screen which can't even accurately reproduce any whites with... white. The body's design looks like a tuperware cover. To be honest, I would pay much more than this phone costs for anything like an LG G5 or V20... and not only do they come with better specs but they're also cheaper.

I can't wait for your screen measurements. The iPhone already has a 99% sRGB coverage and stunning color accuracy, what did they do to make it better exactly? It just sounds like they oversaturated the entire thing.
Every time I skip a little and your holding both the 6s plus and the 7 plus facing forward, I can never tell which one is the new one. They look Exactly the same until you turn them around. I think I'll skip this upgrade from my 6 S Plus and get the Note 7...when the replacements come in.

Waiting for the launch here in Brazil. Are you getting the smaller 7 as well? Which one would you pick up? I currently have a 6 Plus and I've been thinking about going for the smaller version this time around... I don't know, but I think the size of my current device feels like it's too big, but I'm also afraid that the regular 7 can be too small. Oh, and the screen quality (HD x full HD) also worries me. I like the antenna lines as the were like racing stripes but it doesn't matter since lots of people use a case. With a case on it looks like a 6 series phone.

Can you test the hardness of materials used in home button, camera lens and LED flash as well as the screen itself. I've heard rumors that Apple doesn't use Sapphire Glass in any of these which sounds scary to me...
Plus could you open the differences between A1660, A1661, A1778, A1784, A1779, A1785 -models and which one to buy if I live in a GSM-only country but travel a lot in CDMA-only countries. (My presuppose is that A1661 is the best.)
Can you also give an example of how much a regular photo (or Live Photo) on an iPhone 7 Plus takes space and how much stuff you can fit into each model (32, 128, 256GB).
In reality by how much battery life expands if you compare it to the 6S Plus?
A review on Apple Silicone / Leather case would be really useful also.

Great comment you made about initial impressions....underwhelmed. What is the reason to buy a new phone just to buy a new phone if you're going to be 'underwhelmed' with it? I think people are being foolish not waiting for the iPhone 8. It should be a much better phone, hopefully with an entirely new design that will really make it a worthy upgrade. That would be something worth waiting for. The iPhone 7 is just a waste of money.
my wife has the 6 and I upgraded her to the 7 plus. I'm worried it's going to be too large for her to use but we'll have to see!

Maybe use the iphone 7 for all of your music/media stuff for a week and then tell us how it is to use this phone for media without a proper headphone jack, and only the adapter? Maybe to try and demystify the whole issue with the lack of the headphone jack, lots of people seem so concerned despite the adapter being there, even though I don't think many people charge w/ headphones plugged in.
As you mentioned, iOS does color management really well and automatically adjusts itself to sRGB and DCI-P3 content so both look the way they are supposed to, unlike on Android that has zero color management. Also, I don’t know how Apple makes the P3 images look normal on sRGB displays. All the images I’ve seen so far on the internet looked fine. It’s almost as if it captures and saves both color spaces in the EXIF and displays one accordingly, if at all that is possible.

Really appreciate you're biased free reviews ! I am still tied up on what phone I want. Been with Android a while and wanting to switch it up. Apparently no rush since iPhone 7+ isn't available for pickup and the Note7 recall . Wish these folks would get it together 🙄
