Thanks for the heads up! I’ve had that happen with a set of mizuno irons ordered through Dicks/golf galaxy . You are lucky to have access to a real “ pro shop “ .
I love your language!! Refreshing to hear someone letting us know how they really feel. I’ve had a similar experience with their irons ballooning. But I’m attributing that to the tour lite shaft I ordered them with.
I have the 0211 PXG irons & I just had to correct all of the swing weights, thru the set they were 3.5 swing weight points off, some were D4 & varied all the way to D7.5. I'm checking the lie angles next.
Had the exact same problem with Callaway. I found out my irons were 1inch longer than standard length than they should have been. 🤨 Went to see Adam at Elite Golf in Duluth, GA and he did a fantastic job getting my clubs the right length. He even said that this problem happens more than you would think.
Interesting, I do always measure the shaft length as it’s really key to getting a good strike. My PXG irons and wedges were ok however I did have a problem with a couple of the grips not on straight!
About 10 years ago, when I worked for a Top 100 rated cusyom clubmaker, a customer brought in a TaylorMade set that had inconsistent lengths like your set. I couldn't believe it. It was no wonder the guy was having trouble with his club shot length gapping. That was the only one I have see like that. I first thought I had mis-measured them so I double checked.
Ordered gen 6 0311P had the shafts replaced immediately after getting them. I had the shop check the lofts and they were all out of wack. Ordered the 2 degree’s weak all of them were random 1 weak 2 weak 1 strong stock etc. I don’t know for the price i paid i think they should have better quality control.
I had two sets of 0211’s and sent both back. The second set had the Recoil Darts that I ordered 1” over but came standard. They said it was my fault but oh well. I spent too much sending them back and getting stuck with their restocking fee. The product is good but maybe not the QC. Attention to detail.
I've seen that swing weight is a big problem for manufacturers. If you get graphite, don't even try to get standard length because they will swing weight too light. I like a heavier swing weight so I'm at 39" 5 iron.
My pxg horror story, coming from blades figured I’d try some 0311T. They came in some upright some flat. I used the 30 day return policy. They tried to tell me I altered the specs 😂 staying well away!
I had a custom set from cobra. Ordered 1” short 2 degrees flat. Couldn’t hit them! Had them checked out, they were standard length 2 degrees flat. So angry, I sold them. Thought I had lost the ability to hit a golf ball.
I had same prob w pxg the lofts were not even close my 8 iron and 7 iron were only one degree apart and lengths were all over the place I returned there shit
I knew the manufacturers don't give a shit about stated lie and loft angles. They just ship them out and expect the buyer to make sure they're accurate in those areas. But I didn't think they'd do the same thing with shaft lengths. Fucking outrageous.
Whats absolutely amazing is it would cost them LESS money to reshaft clubs, than it would be to just have you return your whole order to them. I didnt like the shafts on the course I got fitted into....and I just asked to have them reshafted and they said to just return the whole order instead. Anyways they are great clubs, but check your specs!
This is not an exclusive PXG problem. I have measured my PXG clubs and they are fine. Took them in recently after having them for a year or so and they checked every club for loft and lie, made a few minor and expected adjustments, for free.
Why would PXG adjust length to fix swing weight when all their heads have weights on them to change swing weight? I’ve also seen loft/lie issues with every company. PXG customer service has always been good to my club so I’m not sure why other people have bad experiences.
I got a call from a Rep from PXG who saw this video. We are currently working on a resolution. Not sure why they did it the way they did. But they are taking care of the issue.
Glad to hear they reached out. From online comments it seems they are pretty responsive, so I was going to suggest you do so…. But they are already on it!
I’m positive that PXG didn’t want bad experiences. Equipment quality reputation is critical for their business. Golfers that can’t count on quality from a given mfg, won’t be buying from that mfg. PXG had to make this right…in their best interest.
I’m really surprised this happened. Normally PXG is on top of their game on this stuff. Maybe their QC is decreasing. If you bought them from PXG, you skins certainly tell them about this. I’m positive they would make it right.
I can’t believe you didn’t notice that kind of length discrepancy as soon as you took them out of the box. Not defending PXG, but you should have had that box taped back up and returned to sender immediately.
That's what I thought too. And, fyi, there is no "standard" in the golf club industry, far as length and loft go, and it can and always has varied between manufactureres. "Standard" is just a word.nothing more. However, we all must applaud PGX for their awesome marketing, right??? For women it's shoes, for men it's tools...and golf clubs are nothing but tools.
That is unforgivable a club manufacturer cant be bothered to get specs correct when building clubs. I hope the Billionaire Bob Parsons contacts you to make up for his company's appalling service. All the best with your new shafts mate.
PXG's QC department needs some serious QC. I've had two sets myself that had problems directly out of the box and my local shop has had to several other PXG buyers bring in clubs that were not to speck. Not with the shafts, but the loft and lie angles were way off. As a veteran, I would expect Mr. Parsons to do a better job.
How come you didn’t make PXG do it? $500 seems like such a waste if you pushed pxg to do it. But I’ll definitely be triple checking in that 30 day window !!
I was out of town, and I was playing in two tournaments, and PXG would have take 2-3 weeks before they could have made it right. They do not do club repair work at their retail sites. I got a call from a Rep from PXG who saw this video. We are currently working on a resolution.
PXG has terrible customer service. They push so many problems to the next person, or the shipper, or even the customer. I had to go to fed ex distribution and pick up my clubs myself… lengths were off, never checked swing weights… all in all, not worth the headache of buying their products. Period.
heard the same thing from friends who bought PXG. They ended up returning it or having PXG repair it. They are known as the TESLAs of golf, poor golf quality (overhyped and under deliver).
I think all manufacturers are the same lacy club makers I’ve heard nothing but good things about PXG i use there stuff myself my only problem is there not as long as others I’ve had but that’s probably me
I've seen these sorts of problems from every manufacturer. I can't believe he didn't immediately notice the lengths being off. I have lofts, lies, and swingweights checked on every new set I get. They're almost never perfect. Also PXG does free spec checks at every store so if you're near a store, you can have them make any adjustments you want. He could've gotten this resolved for free if he gave them a chance to fix it.
@@canyonaro You are sorta correct, but I was out of town and was playing in two tournaments and I needed them fixed asap. PXG would have been around 2 weeks before they would have been fixed. I got a call from a Rep from PXG who saw this video. We are currently working on a resolution.
@@BaldMikedoeslife that’s good because they are a good company who makes good stuff. I would ask for a GEN 6 Driver for your cost of putting it right or a battle ready putter which are amazing.
I had four shafts (KBS) break in two rounds on my PXG Gen 5's. Less than ten rounds on them. I got lambasted for saying anything bad about it by the Fan boys.
What do I think? Total BS! I've ordered eights sets of irons and a whole bunch of other clubs from PXG and they've nailed the specs perfectly including swing weight. Sounds like 2nd Swing was trying to feed you a crap sandwich with a shaft change as dessert and you ate. You should have just dealt with PXG-Dallas and if there were issues, they would have fixed it.
I hear what you are saying, and no sec swing was not, This is my 4th set of PXG clubs, and in the past I have had no issues. All is good now... PXG took care of the situation and I am completely satisfied with them, and their equipment
Why didn’t you do a follow up video saying PXG is working with you to make it right? To not call them, or just send them back with the 30 day guarantee and then blow $500 is dumb on your part.
Its too much to put all that on PXG. ESPECIALLY if you’re still gonna buy their gear. Always double check your club data. As a note: “standard” length, loft, lie… varies from maker to maker (Mizuno != Titleist). Always double check your sticks. Golf is hard enough without ill-fitted/incorrectly built clubs making it harder.
Sorry but I disagree. Ordering premium clubs only to have them way out of spec is frustrating. Then to have to send them back and wait for their mistakes to be corrected is absurd. PXG like all companies needs to be held accountable. They need to improve their processes. There are a lot of stories on here that support his claim and what I am explaining. Fandom doesn’t put them out of the real of responsibility. I’m now done with PXG from the poorly assembled clubs to the indignant sales people you are stuck with when there is an issue. It wasn’t my fault they didn’t do their job. It wasn’t this reviewers or anyone else that had a bad time with PXG. They’ll either get right or go away. There are others manufacturers that have had problems. Mine Titleist. Resolution being very different. They made my replacements to my spec same day and next day aired them to me and paid for the return of the wrong ones. That’s the standard you want. That’s the standard you deserve. Don’t accept bs.
I’m not sure how any experienced golfer can think that ‘standard length’ means something in the current market. (Generally speaking, every manufacturer creates standard length and lie specs for their clubs to maximize performance for the majority of golfers that buy their clubs off the shelf… and they vary by manufacturer… presumably everyone knows that.) How far are you from a clubfitting professional? You have a golf UA-cam channel, but you’ve never spoken to a clubfitter before 2nd Swing? Have you never even researched clubfitting online? If length, lie, and swingweight really were ‘all over the place’ then you should have documented that more specifically. We didn’t get measurements, lofts, or swing-weights on every club in this video, we just heard the ‘opinion’ of 2nd Swing’s tech about what might be going on. Whatever!?!
