  • Golf Lob Shots are easy to get wrong, in this video I break down some simple techniques that will get your short lob shots stopping just after a bunker. We have all been in this horrible golf position right behind a tight bunker to the pin and executing your lob shot correctly is key to getting that loft and quick drop shot before the pin. Practice this PGA Pro tip and you will see a massive improvement within your game.

I am a decent golfer, the flop shot is my favorite shot around the green and I use it all the time even from very tight lies.My set up is similar to yours but I move less the body than you do and I use more the wrists. An other difference is where I hit the turf.If I want the ball to land only few meters away from me then , in purpose like a bunker shot , I hit the turf four-five centimeters before the ball at a very high speed.Instead if it is a long shot I hit the turf just next to the ball like you did on the video

Thanks for the message. Yes you can certainly play those short ones like a bunker shot (as long as the lie isn’t too tight). When opening the clubface a lot, it’s a good idea to push your hands down lower (between your knees) as this squares the face (if you’ve opened for more loft)and allows for more “flip” through impact ⛳️🏌🏻‍♂️

What club do you use for this shot?

Hi, thanks for messaging! Use your most lofted Club for this shot. The more loft you have the better, so if you have a 60 degree wedge then you’ll find it easier. Also, a club with a low bounce can also help if your playing off a tight lie with not much grass under the ball.
Let me know how you get on ⛳️
