    "Deceptive pricing!" So true. I look at it this way. As long as other sellers are using deceptive pricing, it helps the shops with more integrity stand out.
    I also like that you don't use Etsy ads or SM. We are doing the same - relying on Etsy's organic traffic, which is why we chose Etsy in the first place as our platform.
    Thanks for sharing!

    A lot of really great content here, C.U., especially for beginners. Some tips may seem like pretty common sense, but as you show, it hasn't reached everyone. You've probably saved a lot of time for people with the wisdom-, knowledge-based shortcuts ... me included, for sure. But it was your very last line of the video that I found the most valuable. We don't have to get all of this right, right off the bat. A meandering path can be straighten as our destination becomes more clear. And a best practice is rarely identified or achieved without a little flailing practice. Thank you very much. Incoming new subscriber!

    Very inspirational video. A few questions if you don't mind. What percentage of your sales come from personalized sweatshirts? Do you get more sales from group listings or single listings? More importantly, do you currently use the Hello Custom tool or do you or your employee do your own personalization using Canva and Printify? I am listening to your POD training right now. Thanks Christine!

      I just started doing personalzied this year and it has helped a lot! I'd say about 25% of my sales are now personalized. I get more from single listings but I have 1 group listing thats also been great the last few months. I do my own right now because I designed these before HelloCustom and they require some editing to the design to make it work. If I do any new ones though I'd probably make them simpler so I can use HC cause right now these files are taking up a lot of time lol

      Hey Noidea, I saw the significant rise around late Sept/October cause I found a niche that was working for me and went crazy designing for that niche. I finally learned research around then (before I was just posting anything I could think of lol) and no I dont use the loss leader strategy! I do free shipping and bake that into my cost. I'll only price my small white sweatshirts a few dollars cheaper than others but I dont have a major bait and switch price to attract clicks

    Erank is not correct at all. I just checked “mom sweatshirt with kids names “ and there is over 30 K listings with ads vs erank close to 7k. “Custom dog harness” on Etsy is 17 k listings with ads on erank close to 7k . These have some potential but I wouldn’t go what they say I’ll go with what Etsy is telling me. Anyways, your last video on mock-ups is very cool, thanks for the tips.

      It's funny how the harder you work the luckier you get. If you're not making sales you're doing something wrong. Product quality. Listing & photo quality. Low competition, popular niche. Once all that is good then you have to work really hard to get sales immediately when you list something so that Etsy recognises your listing is good. Eg put it on a massive sale and advertise it! Not doing these things is setting yourself up for failure (I have multiple successful shops fyi). Of course, sales and advertising won't work if your product is crap or no-one wants it. There are quite literally millions of people like me making a living on Etsy and other platforms, get rid of your 'other people are just luckier than me' mindset.

      If your listing doesn't get sales quickly upon listing then it's likely never to. Etsy considers how your ad is doing in whether to show it to their customers. So you need to focus on getting quick sales immediately upon listing. How? Of course the product needs to be good, and in demand (eg do your research first) but then you need to put it on sale immediately and advertise it. You might not make much money initially because of the low sale price and advertising costs but once you've shown etsy that it sells well and people like it it'll start ranking and doing well without the need for sales and adverts. Then you put the price back up and stop the advertising and profit. $$$

    great information! One question concerning SEO: do peripheral items like store name, item description, materials, etc. play any part in SEO? ie: should I be loading my description with keywords, or does the algorythem just look at title and tags?

    • @ifeifesi
      @ifeifesi 10 місяців тому +3

      Store name only plays a part if you are a massive well established store but mostly is a waste of space for even big stores. For sweatshirts there is no point adding materials; again another waste of space

    Wouldn't you say that the example with all of the dog sock repeated tags is considered keyword stuffing though? I get that you want to try to get long tail keywords but etsy also combines those tags together for you. Isn't it a better idea to get different words or synonyms that are popular for that item instead of just saying the same thing over and over?

Then when they are happy I'd say "I was hoping you'd be able to edit your review to reflect the customer service received as I want to make sure all my customers are happy with their order!. you can keep your original comment as well but just add in about the refund. Unfortunatley negative star ratings will massively affect my store on Etsy". Make sure this is solved in messages, if you respond publicly then they wont be able to edit their review. If they never answer, THEN id respond publicly to let people know you reached out to offer a refund as you want to provide excellent customer service" so people know at least you tried

    • @dlanor15
      @dlanor15 9 місяців тому

      It isn't. There is a reason Shopify is harder. No one is willing to put in the work. Etsy is easy mode, and even when you get much more sales than you would otherwise, you make less money because you have to price your items very competitively (+ high etsy fees). Shopify is just Etsy for people who want to take dropshipping seriously.

      if you look at her visits only 20% comes from seo, and 60% from etsy app...

      i think its because of that she has a big record of sales certain products of her are getting pushed in her niche thats why she has so much visits, i think this grows over time and not in 2 3 months@@c.u.online

    Do you have videos on HOW to get seen? I average between 3 to 7% conversion rate, but not enough people are finding me for some reason. I've done the research, found a niche, researched keywords and long tail keywords, but the sales numbers aren't happening for me. While I see similar shops with lesser quality seemingly killing it. I've been at this since March 2023...it's getting discouraging.

    Christina, another great video. I never knew about the Search Analytics page, so thank you!! Question - By running your store this way with no ads, how long would you say it too for the items to really take off? Were you getting traction before the 60-90 days it takes to get into the algorithm??
