They are edible in the spring when they are just coming out of the ground and there is a variety that is commercially grown and and available in stores .if you've had asparagus you've eaten a fern

I am sorry to say this but it is silly of the kind policeman to borrows such a large money to buy the land for her. If the kind policeman really loves her, than propose to her and give up the land. She can moved in to stay with her mother who will welcome her and her daughter. She can continue to harvest the fruits ,plant veg to sell and be independent. The kind and loving Aunty will agree to it. Now once you committed such a huge loan, how can you pay back. This could worries the Aunty (Policeman mother ) and relationship will start to deteriorate. Think carefully kind Policeman and Hong Ca you shouldn't encourage him to borrow the loan. If you truly loved him and move in to stay with them. Don't give him such a big commitment.

In Malaysia we call that, "pucuk paku" that fern you collect..🌿
Kerabu Pucuk Paku 👈recipe
300 g pucuk paku (or fern shoots)
50g shelled fresh prawns
1/4 cup freshly grated coconut or dessicated coconut
1 small onion, cut into half rings
2 - 3 tbsp coconut milk (optional)
Dressing
2 fresh chillies, pounded
2 tbsp fresh lime juice
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
Snap "pucuk paku' from the tip into 5 cm lengths, stopping when you reach the section of the stem which doesn't snap easily. You should get 150 to 200 g of "pucuk paku" tips. Blanch the asparagus in boiling salted water for 1-2 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and dip into cold water to stop it from cooking. Drain well and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine the dressing ingredients. Add the prepared prawns and toss well. Add the "pucuk paku", toasted coconut and onion. Mix well. Season with the coconut milk if using with a pinch of salt and drizzle over the kerabu. Transfer to a dish and serve immediately.
