Your viewpoints are very objective and I agree with the most points you mentioned. However I don't agree with the point that a pedestrian can be completely safe when he or she walks on a zebra crossing in Taiwan. Many times when I saw the traffic light in my direction had turned green, I started to walk on the zebra crossing only to be shocked by a motorcyclist. The motorcycle almost bumped into me and that meant the traffic light in his direction had turned red for several minutes and he still wanted to run through the red light.
