END OF BEGINNING LYRICS:
Just one more tear to cry
One teardrop from my eye
You better save it for
The middle of the night
When things aren’t black and white
Enter, Troubadour:
“Remember 24?”
And when I’m back in Chicago, I feel it
Another version of me, I was in it
I wave goodbye to the end of beginning
This song has started now
And you're just finding out
Now isn’t that a laugh?
A major sacrifice but clueless at the time
Enter, Caroline:
“Just trust me you’ll be fine”
And when I’m back in Chicago I feel it
Another version of me, I was in it
I wave goodbye to the end of beginning
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
You take the man out of the city, not the city out the man
You take the man out of the city, not the city out the man
You take the man out of the city, not the city out the man
You take the man out of the
And when I’m back in Chicago, I feel it
Another version of me, I was in it
I wave goodbye to the end of beginning
Goodbye
Goodbye

this song gives me nostalgia of something i’ve never experienced and i love it
~I know right!
Me too
Exactly
This feeling is called anemoia! I mean, I would know...
For me it gives me feelings of looking back in the past and then moving on to the present/future
one of the few people that manage to capture that 80's-90's essence, a rarity in the majority of the indie music producers, really good
Look up the bands The Midnight and Gunship as well. For The Midnight, id look up Bend or maybe Sunset or Lost and Found.
For gunship I would look up Pink Mist Tech Noir or When You Grow Up Your Heart Dies for a start.
I literally thought this was an 80s song I either never heard of forgot.
also Brothertiger and Ultraboss
Conan grays new singles, and probably the rest of the upcoming album, sound very VERY 80's. Love this type of music
There are many who capture it. But he owns it and makes it better
As someone from Chicago who’s finally coming home in a few days from the army; this song tugs on my heart in a way I can’t describe.
Thank you for your service! :)
I love my city
Hope you're enjoying being home!
@@shyofthemoon1175 it’s been nice. A lot of us take the life we have here for granted and I’m just grateful for what I have.

Djo finally getting the recognition he deserves.

I have never been to Chicago, and somehow I feel nostalgic about this. In different cities ages ago, with people I never thought I would lose contact, having feelings hard to explain back then and hard to explain even now too. Man, what a song
You've definitely got to experience Chicago. I fell in love immediately.
@Itsunclegabby yess same I live in chicago and I never ever get tired of it it has always been my fav city ❤
I've been away from home(chi) for over a year now(not by choice, long story lol) and this song literally made me tear up😩👌🏾
This song perfectly resembles my city🖤
I lived in Chicago for a decade. It's not perfect , but I miss it. Probably going back when I can.
I love the alien bug creature shooting lasers from its eyes, so cute and good
Stranger Things homage… ❤

I am in love with every part of this song. The music, the words, his voice, the vibe, the essence. LOVE IT!

nice joke but this is his passion
This is one of the best songs I've heard this year! I don’t know how to describe it, it’s like nostalgia for very good days.
For me, 'Chicago' is all those memories that l may not be able to live again but l have cherished, enjoyed them at the right moment and have kept safe deep inside my broken soul which is slowly trying to achieve peace and strength, by replaying all those old memories which had deep emotions attached to it❤
Joe is a fantastic singer, damn his vocals ate fr❤
I sent this to my dad immediately. It embodies the music he used to play through the gigantic stereo when I was a kid in the 90s. Oh, my heart.

This song gives me the most unexplainable feeling joy that feels like A song you would hear on your deathbed, remembering everything beautiful in your life. Or the main character of a movie sitting with everyone they love on a hill or driving away into the sunset before the credits arrive.😢❤
This song takes me back to my childhood. I think about how much more simple and fair my outlook to the world was, never worrying about bad things or the next events of my life and simply enjoying friends and family. I feel and think so different now that I'm an adult. Another version of me, I was in it.

Everyone using the chorus for shorts has driven me to find the whole song. My soul is crushed appropriately by the sad nostalgia the whole song brings. I'm not from Chicago. I've never even been that far north. But man, if this doesn't make me miss my hometown in the Texas panhandle anyway 🥺
I found this song the same way
I moved to Chicago from South Carolina. The city pushed me into becoming my true self. This song makes me so happy, reminds me of new beginnings I’ve had in Chicago and all the growth I’ve experienced through the pain of transformation.

If they make nostalgia songs "phonk" they are considered an opp and a crazy person.
The 80s vibe is so addictive
Being away from home in the big city, alone at home without dinner or warmth, it hits you how lonely and far you are from home. It was a sacrifice to leave home to find better opportunities, and you wonder how life would've been if you never left. There is a sense of melancholy reminiscing the life you had, and mourning the person you could've been, but it is what it is. Keep moving forward towards your dreams.
Beautiful words I felt in my soul. I’m hurt at an all time low by someone I never should have let hurt me so much but also I’m doing the best I have in a while so I’m up and down.
i usually hate trendy songs but this is such an explosion of immersion in everything that once was and celebrating what now is. beautiful.
this song feels like what would be playing in your head at the end of high school, looking back though all the memories and thinking about whats to come.

As a fellow DePaul alumn who moved away from Chicago after school but moved back during the pandemic, this song has been so special to me since it’s initial release. so glad its getting the recognition it deserves, and how people are using the song to showcase Chicago for what it is 🥰
