If you don't feel comfortable dying Allen's arm, why not use a body sock as a reference and make him a red arm and then just dye the hand? I half wonder if you could make a hand out of foam clay and paint that, since his hand doesn't always look identical to a normal hand, depending on what ver you're going with.
