I love the way the boys sat and played in the big rolled up drain pipes, watching their dad, and talking to him, then getting their shovels and helping, with their bare feet (reminds me of when we were kids, playing and running all over the place barefooted), what leather soles we had. Today can not walk on tar roads with out having shoes on ha ha. Then they still carried on after dinner, I love their miners lights. You are a lovely family, keep up the good work, have a great day and a well earned sleep after all that work.
You wouldn't have the father and son time like you did if you had a trencher. You have some great boys I'm sure you are super proud of them. Loved the post by your son the other day he done a great job and was excited about planting. So good to see they say our kids copy what they see great job Dad and Mom love to see kids being raised this way. God bless you and your family
Hi..... Ben and Meg nice to see you both and your daughter to, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🐔🐓🐥👕🐖🌱🎥👍👍👍
Man... I love your boys so sensitive to what tool you need next and always ready to help. What great individuals you are rearing..blessings. Keep it up 👏👏👏👏❤❤
Hey Ben, my husband likes your idea of the 5 gallon bucket instead of the box. We have an area where we need to move water, and your idea will be used...thanks! Great job y'all!
Sandy Oklahomatransient just make the hole in the bucket on the bottom side so no water just sits in the bottom like he did. He left about 3” for water to just be trapped!! That makes a great place for mosquitoes to raise and not much you can do about it afterwards.
Good evening beautiful people. I knew your boys were Not going to sit and watch their father tolling away without giving him some help. Great memory day. They will remember this day for the rest of their lives. Good men in making. Smart problem solution dad.
You have some hard working little helpers. It’s so good for them to learn how to do hard work. Kids these days don’t know that. I love your little family! ❤️
Meg, Your pride in your husband and your boys radiates in your smile and your eyes. The whole time I watched he worked so hard and so did a couple of your boys but mainly dad. My husband of fifty years past a few days now who will be 70 very shortly just blows me away in that department. Those skills your boys are also learning is invaluable. I found that when we moved away from out childhood home, families and childhood friends we really became the family that we always wanted to be.. In our case we needed it to be grown up in the ways that we needed to be.
Lots of people would have just complained a lot about the muddy patch, but you're investing in your long term life, and doing it RIGHT! Your boys are just awesome, and as has been said, they are learning all the time skills for the rest of their lives.
Ahh that last part where the boys wanted to work to get the job done. It really shows family pride & unity already instilled in their little bodies. Too sweet, great job kiddos

Such a hard working family and kids that have a good work ethic! It might have only been one project, but y'all worked together and got it done together! Great job guys!
Meg, y'all definitely should be proud of your boys. Their helpfulness and wonderful behavior didn't just happen. Your hard work as parents is really showing!
Great job. I had a neighbor once. Older gentleman. His Name was Cliff Swann. He said he tried to accomplish just one thing everyday. So at the end of the year he had accomplished 365 things. You made me think of him. Thank you. And you boys are awesome!!
This winter when it's cold and wet and nasty those boys are going to be so proud that they made that area dry and much easier to work around! Dad is going to appreciate the work he did too. Good job guys!!!
So good to see fathers teaching their boys how to work and enjoying time together. So thoughtful that they wanted to continue after dark making some great memories. I loved this video!!

I love this clip because it is a true example of all of you working at a common goal... Unity within a family goes far beyond any expectations for tasks getting 'done'.
I'm going back and watching your old videos. And I love seeing the progression of your build, your young boys, and your family relationship. This video has me tearing up at Ben teaching the boys how to work and accomplish such needful and satisfying jobs. Thanks Ben for your care for your family.
It is so hard to stop when there is more to be done. I do the same. Now I cook supper early in the day, throw it in the oven, and go back to my garden and yard work in the cooler of the evening. Great boys you have. And papa too. Have a Wonderful & Blessed Day!
It makes me happy to watch your videos but even more so now because on September 22 my world stopped turning and now I am living the life of a widow and you guys are keeping me company especially at night and I love the fact that during my first week of grief your lives kept going and now I have something to look forward to in watching while my girl is at college and it’s no one here but me and the animals. I know exactly how hard that is. My husband and I put in a French drain from the backyard to the road (about 50 feet). He had a bad heart so I got to do all the digging. Put plastic down, then rocks, then pie, then rocks and wrapped the plastic over. Filled the top with dirt and done! It worked great. Love seeing the boys help. I can just hear the end of the day "Come on Dad, it'll be cooler and think about how you'll feel had vying it all done and not having to think about getting back out there again." Gotta love those boys!
You have kids to be proud of. Your family is definitely one to be proud of, the love and respect you all show for each other is a beautiful thing to see. I'm not sure if this has been said previously but if not I have a suggestion on the end of ur drain, if you place some window screen over the end and secure it, that will help keep dirt and debris from flowing back in. I absolutely love you guys!!! YOU are a total inspiration and I have binged watched your entire homestead playlist. Love it and your family are truly blessed.
It's such a treat watching the boys pitch in to help. Brett is a go-getter, right out of the gate, but I love watching how they all filtered in over time. I love the things I'm learning while being entertained at the same time. Good job!

You and your boys are amazing !!! (You are too Meg 😁) Make my heart feel good watching the kids being so involved in making the homestead. Reminds me of my siblings and myself when we were young and our folks bought our place in the country. We couldn't wait to jump off that school bus and get as much work done as we could before mom and dad got home from work. They were always amazed at how much we could do. We had waited along time...at least in kid time...to get this country home.
I love how the boys are watching you dig out the drain. I appreciate your parenting style and that you don't force the boys to work. I understand that they would have their share of jobs to do, but it doesn't feel like we are watching forced labor. It's nice to see.
Your boys are extraordinary. They are lively and energetic, yet also know when to be politely quiet. I think you've done an amazing job of parenting and would love to hear more about how you balance parenting, work, play, and instilling values.
Hard work does not hurt anyone. Well done and very proud of your kids. I said to my wife I love to see how you involve your kids, teaching them a good work ethic.
My oldest and I love digging, compost, trenches, beds....the repetitive task calms him on rough days. I have a special place in my heart for a spade. He no longer has plastic ones, he's upgraded to the real thing.
