Looks like Sixlets to me. Or you can get off-brand ones at Walmart in many colors.
And this recipe must be one whole recipe per layer?
Surely 3 cups of powdered sugar at the one minute mark of the video is wrong? There was already 1 cup of sugar in the cake batter.
That's standard for buttercream frosting. One cup of fat with three cups of powdered sugar.
How do I replace the sour cream?
You could replace the sour cream with Greek yogurt. The Greek yogurt is similar to sour cream in taste and consistency. A cup of greek yogurt is equal to a cup of sour cream
I would use cream cheese in the frosting. You could probably replace it with mayonnaise in the cake batter.
