My brother had a mulsanne blue 72 nova ss when I was a kid in the 80’s. He put a lumpy solid lifter cam in it, edelbrock tarantula intake, 780 holley, headers, replaced the Saginaw with a m21, and replaced the 10 bolt with a 4.56 12 bolt posi. It was the coolest car in our town. He eventually sold it. We kept track of it for a few years but lost track in the early 90’s. We’d both love to find that car again. It ran 12.50’s on 28” tall bias ply tires. Imagine it with modern drag radials
Been watching your videos since day 1! Very good and have helped me out every time. I just bought a 1968 Nova last week and I'm definitely using your channel for help.
Great bones for a build. I just looked at the parts available from AMD, you can get everything you need far cheaper than I can get for my mopar builds. Novas are lightweight great hot rods. Looks like a cool build in the making. All the best.
I really need to get started on my 74 SS. I have owned it since 88 and I raced it and drove it daily up until 2000 when I parked it in my garage. The cops wouldn't leave me alone so I quit driving it. I need to replace the quarters and the floor. I am afraid to start digging into it because I am pretty sure I will find more!
I have owned my 1972 SS Nova since 1993 , was my daily driver did some street racing a little , but the transmission started slipping and it's been parked , since about 1998 got married, had kids and just never seem to have the extra to get anything for it but I'm the last few years I have been collecting parts for another engine I have been trying to build , it's a destroaked 350 , now it's a 331 , baught world products sportsman 2 heads that are a 1994 casting , still need to figure out what cam I can run , but want it to be a good street/strip car , and the local police pulled me over just about every day I came into town , have to see if there are any old cops that remember me and my Nova . Lol
The best easiest way to cutcout a windshield or back glass is with a extendable break off blade knife you go up against the glass in between the glass and the pinch weld and go all the way around if it gets hard to do break a piece of blade off for a new sharp tip extend it out far enough to go in between the glass and pinch weld cut the kit push it out don't you use anything steel you can chip the glass leading to a run but tempered glass don't run it shatters or explodes you can make a 1/4 thick piece of hard plastic like a screw driver to help won't chip the glass
I still say rat rod bob the 4 to 2 door 👍👍i just think it would look cool with all the stitch welds there is a lot of work between these 2 cars bro. don't burnout its easy to do looking forward to seeing them come together
I'm starting to think you may want to invest in a bead roller for the inner quarter pieces you said they don't make. If you can use a sharpie, you can redesign the pieces you need. But, I'm sure you already knew that. Any idea for the motor and transmission? Also gotta recommend frame connectors, cause they can help keep the dimensions of the body from shrinking or expanding. Plus the obvious ability to put more power through the chassis without damage to the body.
@@Shop209 awesome. So technically, those inner panels will be a little bit of a pain, but fully fixable. So is the car gonna be a small block or a big block?

my nova was in bad shape and I used a 4 door flat, where I live Argentina the two doors are harder to find So I cut a 4 doors to use their parts as they are not manufactured
When you took the back window out and then went by the passenger door with the square mirror I was thinking it was the one I used to have but that one has way too much rust and I think I sold mine in 2005
What is the best way to find a rear seat for a 70'? I just don't understand you can buy just about every nut & bolt & part for these cars but you cannot buy a New Rear Seat. Custom seats cost a fortune so I'm stuck looking for one to re-upholster. My 70' project did not come with any interior so this is why I am asking.
@@Shop209 I found a Skylark back seat on Ebay but they want $640 shipped. Then that will need to be reupholstered. That will be close to $1,000! Shame were stuck with that being the cheap option.
I was told 67 to 69 Camaro that came with a 12 bolt will bolt right in. Do you know if that's true or if any other make modal year etc will work . I tried to Google it but there all over the place
I would have definitely gave $500 for that, especially if it has a title or the proper paperwork to get one. Heck, I gave $500 for just a completely bare '68 shell back in the early 2000s. On a non-related note, I can't believe you still don't have garage doors! Where I live, the meth addicts would have emptied the garage by now!
I’m not really in the city. So even though I need doors it’s not an issue yet. No title on the car but in GA that’s not a problem. All we need is bill of sale and vin inspection.
The cars that you dive right into, are so far gone to the un nova eye. It gives me so much hope with my 1970 Nova project !!

Sounds like an awesome car. I’d love to have my first car/nova back. It was a 71.
Perfect to make a drag car 😊
This is the Nova specialist that I like his knowledge is perfect information about rust on anything in between
He is the nova master. If anybody can fix it, he can👍💯

Any 12 bolt from 67-69 Camaro or from a 68-70 Nova. I’ve never seen a 12 bolt with mono leafs so they should all be set up for multi leaf.
