These kind of “raw,” lightly-produced videos are my favorite. Seeing how the equipment functions - including what the sim instructor sees - makes it far less intimidating.
The hiss noise is an obvious indication that something is wrong. Im suprised that the captain has to drop the masks in the cabin. I would think that it would be automatic on depressurization. What if the pilot is incapacitated by something coming thru the front window? Maybe there are bigger worries in this case.
B-HUD still lives on due to the SIM. Thanks for the insight regarding flight management sir, happy flying 🙏. By the way you remind me of one of my lecturers, Mr Washington Mhangami who's also a former pilot/flight engineer..
I like the way you explain complex things in a easy way, of course it is interesting seeing these contingencies on the simulator, even if I think the noise of air escaping sounds rather silly, of course this must happen also in the real airplane
once you get the warning does it close the outflow valve automatically and check for control of the valve? I noticed the yellow eicas messages came up on their own .
This was one of the biggest problems of flight Japanese 123 when they had an explosive decompression. They forgot to put the mask on the 32 minutes flight until crashing to the mountains, they had no judgment because of hypoxia.
Thanks for another amazing video captain. I have a question: I am just starting training for my private pilot’s license, and I need to buy equipment like a headset and EFB. Have you got any recommendations for stores or brands that I should look at? And what should I do in order to be the most successful as possible in aviation? Thank you so much!
You didn't really explain the pilot actions. Put on your mask and put the switch for the passenger masks to on. Tells us very little. How about the emergency decent procedure, FMS actions, dealing with amber alerts on the upper EICAS synoptic etc.... I expected more from you as you are normally very informative. What happened?
As I said in the narrative- this video was just about the indications in the flight deck NIT the pilot actions- this will be the subject of another video

"Cover your nose and mouth and breathe normally blah blah blah" made me laugh.
Your videos are always a treat.
Cheers
Thank you Capt for explaining this feature. Appreciate your time and efforts.
Thank you very much Captain, greetings from Argentina.
greetings!
If I was to have and instructor I wish it was you Sr.. respect man !!
Thanks to you too.
thank you captain for the video well understood on aircraft pressurisation
hi captain : so to get to normal cabin pressure , one would lower the aircraft altitude
Thanks for another educational video of my favorite plane!! :)
Awesome video, as always!! Thank you!

i think they drop automatically, the switch in the cockpit is just a verification anyway just in case the automatic drop doesn’t work
The masks will drop automatically at a cabin altitude of 14000 feet. The pilots can do it earlier as I did.
Capt. Obert, you seem to talk to your 747-8. This is fascinating. Just love how u do it, my man. Congrats from zambia.
Thank you. Greetings - shani pazambia😊

The another great video by our sir
Thank you Cpt!

At what point would you pitch the nose down and head for 10,000 feet?
As soon as possible
hi captain ; Rapid Depressurisation can also happen if its not set on Auto ?

well check out Senheiser headsets.
@@pilot_obet Thank you so much, I'll have a look!
Capt do you then descend to an altitude whereby the passengers can breathe normally and then land when able?
Correct!
Do Boeings have suction gauges ?
Nope. What do you think they are, Cessna piston-engined singles?
Does the simulator simulate windscreen frosting due to rapid depressurization?
Not quite😊
Does Cathay pacific hire American pilots?
Yes they do. There are nationalities from all over the world. A lot of American pilots with USA based crew too.
I didn't know that passenger oxygen masks required pilot action to release
They have both- automatic and pilot action. The pilot can pre-empt if they feel the pax should get on to the masks earlier

@@pilot_obet Look forward to it.
This only applies to people who breathe 😊
Lol 😆
let's hope it never happens later...
No thank you. I prefer flying with a canary.
