It's feel like I am not letting go of my old self because there was a period when everyone thought I was a loser but i proved them wrong by getting good marks but after that it feels I am not improving, I also stress myself a lot and not take action and its feel exhausting

Great video. I am a Westerner and found peace embracing eastern philosophy. The idea of the four part path really resonates with me. I've also embraced Kintsugi and Wabi Sabi. I walked a similar path in the sense of going alone. No direction or guidance other than UA-cam and books. I dissappeared 3 years ago and am just now finding myself and a sense of peace.

Notes to self (take it with a grain of salt as it might not 100% align with the content of the video):
    1. Zen cannot be taught with words
    - Should be learned through yourself
    - Language has its limitation → thus it cannot be taught
    - Learning from doing is the ONLY way
    - More wisdom and knowledge
    - Challenge yourself → Push yourself out of your comfort zone
    2. Get in touch with your heart
    - get in touch with your own feelings
    - face yourself → otherwise you cannot be free of blockage (enlightened)
    3. True wisdom comes from experience and feelings
    - life gives you a test and THEN lets you learn from it
    - “There is nothing outside of yourself that can ever enable you to get better, stronger, richer, quicker, or smarter. Everything is within. Everyhting exists. Seek nothing outside of yourself”
    - point inwards and look within
    - take responsibility in life
    4. Look at your true self then you shall become buddha
    - take a deep look at your self
    - let yourself be who you are
    - your success is between you and yourself
    - do not judge yourself without understanding the entire image

Thank you Show! I have been listening to talks, youtube videos on Zen by mostly western wise people. First time listening to someone from Japan. Just awesome! Zen philosophy is just brilliant. Such wise people were there in the past, the teachings and lessons still benefitting the mankind.
    Keep helping us! 🙏

On the subject of “heart.”- I feel that the Japanese character 心 does a great job of describing what “that” is because the word itself is so versatile when used.

Looks like "fu" but slightly different, what does it mean?

    • @chrisplaysdrums09
      @chrisplaysdrums09 5 місяців тому

@@BigBrotherBrody you’re thinking of a phonetic “kana” ふ It does look similar tho. The kanji 心 can be pronounced “shin” しん for heart, and “kokoro” こころ which to my understanding means something more like heart-mind.

I do appreciate your attempt to guide to the way of zen. It is difficult as zen has no scripture or doctrine to follow you are only required to simply just be but be conscious at all times being. Therefore point them to becoming the way of enlightenment first. Then will they see clearly the way of zen

"Every moment waited is a moment wasted" is not really according to zen philosophy. The correct way according to zen is to wait until you feel ready and when you are truly ready actions flows naturally and instantaneously. When ppl do things out of hurry and because "there is no time" , wrong actions are implemented

I think you are wrong here. Mahanyana buddhism came from India to china where it mixed with local philosophy like Taoism to create Zen Buddhism. Same with Tibetan Buddhism combined Tibetan religion with Buddhism.
