Hey Peter. I actually bought a pair of these before I even entered the Sonos ecosystem, but I use them on separate floors. Now that have a beam 2, one SL's as surrounds and sub mini, I sort of want to having everything in the same ecosystem. While they all support airplay, nearly all of my music is through Spotify, and you can't group different manufacturers together to play on all speakers at once via Spotify. I was thinking of replacing the MS50A's with Symfonisk Bookshelf speakers. What are your thoughts on the comparison between the Edifiers and Symfonisks? Thanks!
I'm really struggling to stereo pair them as only one device appears in the "select devices to pair up" mode, they are both connected to the same wifi. really annoying!
Great vid. I've just bought two of these but when I open the app I don't see the "select devices to pair up" page. Do you have any throughts on this please? Thanks.
@@PeterPee I've managed to connect them although I don't know how, but it seems that the app does not always connect and the speakers and they have lost their stereo paring without me touching them or the app. Also, on the "select devices to pair up" there is only one speaker showing. I simply cannot work out how to get both to appear so I can stereo pair them. At 5 mins into your video you have both speakers showing, how do you do that please?
Unfortunately not in the best way. It doesn’t have any connection to wire them up. But you can use Bluetooth. There is a small latency which you may or may not notice.
2 more questions: does the pairing mode still work if I stream music via Bluetooth? And do I have to re-pair them after I turn them off and on again? Thanks alot for your kind response.
I don’t know how Apple could build upon AirPlay. AirPlay 3 could only mean 3D audio? TruePlay/adapting to room would be difficult to make for every AirPlay enabled speaker right? This step is required for delivering Atmos with HomePods right? I hope Matter comes with a competitor. I’d like to easily control AirPlay with Android/Windows. Much improvement can be made with wi-fi speakers!
I read on Forbes that the next generation of Sonos high-end speakers will be Optimo2. This is to replace the Sonos5. Are you aware of that? They say it's a leak.
I read about that. But if you are asking if I am aware if they are really launching it, I don't actually know. I do feel that there are quite a number of other gaps in their lineup they have opportunities in. They should be plugging those gaps before creating a new high end market. But that said, I hope they do bring that to fruition and for one, I won't be the person complaining if they do.

I find it hard to remove the front grill. Is there a technique to it? I would want to hear it without the grill

Thanks for the video, is the pairing for two speakers only for airplay or can u use the Stereo pair for bluetooth as well?
You can use the stereo pairing for bluetooth as well.

I find that the Symfonisks are louder but vocals wise, the edifier does better.

Seems the stereo mode can only work on phones or tablets, you can't do that on PC as there is no app to link two speakers?

Have you added both of them already? I followed the process in my video and it still works. Both on the same network and within network range right?

It doesnt have standby mode. Is it ok to leave it on all the time?
I think it's fine. But I have plugged them out sometimes. The startup is quite fast so shouldn't be too much of an hassle.

Will these work with Apple TV’s hdmi arc feature?
No they won't. Only Wifi streaming, bluetooth and Airplay. Not through HDMI.
