Very nice, Tom. This is a chinese machine, here in Brazil they sell it under a brand named Oster. Seems like a decent machine that will deliver an easy coffee in the morning.
Several machines use this design. Ive been using yhis machine for about a month now and really love it. I got tired of the faf of using 2 machines to make espresso. I feel like the cup quality is closer to the real thing than you cam get with yhe gaggia or Phillips machines.
I've had this for 3 years. It's really good. The only problem is cleaning it. Very hard to get inside and clean the coffee grounds out from the nooks and crannies. However, you don't have to do it as often. The water tank is not very large. And like he said, you can't have it under a cupboard as you'll have to pull the entire machine out
@@el6912 it doesn't froth any milk. It just leaves a "crema" layer on top of the coffee which is a couple millimeters. Produced from the coffee itself.
Lavazza use the 2 year term in general. Bear this in mind if you want to buy it. Pellini, Julius Meinl they have a production date… segafredo don’t have too but the term in general is 3 years from what i searched 😁
Hi Kev! Thanks much! It's a nice little machine for little money. I was surprised to hear this has been marketed under different brands, but it's still a cool machine. Cheers!
You should do a series of reviews for widely known available commercially sold coffee beans in supermarkets (especially for superautomatic machines) my favorite thus far (for the price) is Lavazza Qualita oro (and i usually buy them when in discount) Do you have any recommendations or favorites? Yes,freshly ground is best, but in my opinion not worth the price for an super automatic machine where you can't get the best out of the beans anyway.
My favorite store bought bean is the Lavazza Aromatico. I have had some excellent shots from that, but I don't often find this roast. Thanks for the idea, Tom
I never took this apart, but it's likely a stainless steel lined aluminum thermoblock. There will be some plastic tubing in there, just like all other machines.
Hi Tom thanks for the great content you deliver for the budget espresso enthusiast. I have a question as im planning on initiating my first Espresso set up. What do you think of the sage dose control grinder? how does it compare to the baretza and opus you previously recommended on your channel?
Hmm, well the Dose Control is quite old, but decent. It's the same as in the Barista Express. I'd say the Fellow Opus provides the best grind at the price range, but the Dose Control and ESP also do a fine job for espresso. Choose the one whose ergonomics and looks suit you best. That said, I'd probably take the ESP, but that's just me.
I never realized Tchibo was a German brand. I've always seen their instant granule coffees together with the Japanese brands (UCC/ Blendy) and assumed it was Japanese (the name does sound Japanese).😅
Hello i have a problem or not a big problem but i just got my DeLonghi la specalista arte The one that has The manuel tamping but my coffe gets cold after like 3 minutts i have Max heat on and i use medium burnt beans am i doing somthing wrong or is it a setting i need to chance on The machine?
Tom I was wondering if you've tried the kitchenaid burr grinder, I'm looking to replace my oxo grinder with something than can grind a drip and espresso that's not overly expensive
_Hello Tom. Some time ago I sent you a request for help in repairing my DeLongni Dedic. I also sent a link to a video I recorded so you can see how the machine works, or more precisely, how it works incorrectly. Have you managed to familiarize yourself with the topic? Regards._
Hi Marek, sorry I missed it before, but I saw it now. You have to flip the steam switch, and keep steaming. If you flip it back, then the machine will go back to coffee mode after 10 seconds, and will require you to cool down the boiler. Cheers, Tom
Thanks Tom for the quick reply. However, it is not about cooling down, but about the time needed to create steam to heat the milk. After turning the milk knob, it works for a very short time and then turns off itself, switching to the cooling mode of the bottle. Cannot froth milk. The brewing process itself is also very short for a single or double espresso. It takes a few seconds. I regenerated the Ulka pump and it should work properly. What controls the milk frother and the coffee brewing time? Do you have any idea? I will be grateful for any suggestion. Kind regards.
hi there, thanks for this videos. how do you compare this to a philips 2200. How many grams of coffee do these use in plus settings and which one has better extraction and get closer to a portafilter espresso machine?
While I appreciate the emphasis on the “German Design” which creates the “illusion” of quality, I am not a fan of not making where it is made equally important. Too many manufacturers brag about the design and engineering but hide behind the country of manufacturer. With that being said, I am NOT a hypocrite. I am thoroughly satisfied with many of my daily products that I use that are manufactured in China. Where my problem lies is the deception from companies trying to trick the uneducated consumer into thinking they are getting something they are not. I bet there are hundreds of folks out there bragging about their new espresso machine that was made in Germany. 😢
True. In the meantime, I’ve found out that this is a white label product, being sold under different names. So, that makes it even more confusing to know where the dressing really came from.
Lol, I lent this from a friend to test out. But it's actually a nice little machine that doesn't take up much space. I am surprised it's chinese.@@1AmElectricman
Couldn’t get it to even start the first time. Rinse cycle didn’t start the way instructions indicated. Empty grounds warning light keeps flashing. Removed and reseated everything with no difference. Very disappointed.

Very nice, Tom. This is a chinese machine, here in Brazil they sell it under a brand named Oster. Seems like a decent machine that will deliver an easy coffee in the morning.
Oh that's interesting, I didn't know that this has been rebranded so many times! Pretty good machine though.
I believe a variation of this machine is also sold as a Beko and Smeg here in the UK.

Great video. That looks like a lot to go thru for a cappuccino. I could see myself losing or breaking one of those parts.
I'm choosing now a coffee machine and I already love your reviews.
Thank you!
I live in the UK. I've checked maybe over 30 different packs of beans from the supermarkets. All they have is best before date.
I know - it's hard to find roasters serious about freshness in the supermarket.

Thanks for the review Tom. In my opinion a bit too much hustle with the milk system
Fair enough!
Thank you! This video was so helpful. Much appreciated❤☕️
You are so welcome!
Why my tchibo esperto Is stuck on descale?
I bought some small wheel casters and put on all four corners so I could slide my machine out from under the counter.
Can you share the link on the small wheel casters you bought? Thank you!
How make stronger coffee permanently? Do not need push + each time
Have you ever had the “no beans” error code on and no matter it stays on. After I’ve taken out all the beans. It’s only 5 months old. Help
how often do you need to clean?
what is that side thing? yougroup?? also will it make 16 oz?
That side thing is a milk frother. It seems to be only available in Europe though.

Hi. Is the heating element aluminum? And, does the hot water come in contact with plastic parts?

@kathclapper Have you found any machines where there is no hot contact with plastic??

Yes sir, straight outta Germany. They are all over the place in Deutschland. Cheers!
For information, it's the copy of an 'old' french machine, the KOTTEA Espressima... I've had this for several years....
Oh wow yes, it looks exactly the same! It's the question of which one came first...this Tchibo is even sold in the USA.
Can anyone tell me the brewing temperature?
What is your recommended bean to cup machine for $400 budget?

Well, I'd suggest pre-warming your cups. That will help. Also, coffee gets cold with time, so drink quickly! Cheers!
Would you recommend this machine over the philips
Hmm, I'd say for me it's slightly better. But cleaning the milk attachment is a pain.
Would this machine work for mainly using it for espresso?
Sure, but it's not a traditional espresso - meaning not as strong. But it makes a pretty good lungo, or caffe crema.
@@TomsCoffeeCorner that’s what I figured, but it was on sale so I’m going to give it a try and test it out! Thanks for the response
im not sold ,seems to be a lot of faffing around with the milk attachment .
Thanks for watching, comments welcome!

I think it's better, honestly. I didn't weigh the pucks - wish I would have. But I am pretty sure they're larger than the 7g pucks that Philips makes.
Same as the Incapto machine no?
Looks like it. Maybe Tchibo just paid a license to use the design and slap their name on it?

better than a breville barista?
Nope
Very small water tank by the look of it. They probably want you to take it out to fill it so that you don't get water into the grinder.
Impossible to find a repair service, any contact? thank you
Can you call the place you bought it from? Or maybe Tchibo directly?
I’m in Spain but no prob for send to Germany, thanks
I was buy 4 experto units, directly to Tchibo Germany, they send to colonia and a German friend send to me
Anyone can help ? Thanks

Esperto Pro
its a smeg bcc02
pretty sure this unit is the same as the SMEG and the Cafe.
