"He's a threat to our liiiiivvveeess"
Watching other people laugh to this is the reason "reactors" are amazing. Dunno why some people think they're pointless.
"Relive the peak of Disney animation, followed immediately by it's downfall" "I like New Groove!" "Tarzan was good!" Ok, I already like these guys!
Kimba the White Lion was a Japanese cartoon that came out decades before The Lion King that was extremely similar. To character designs, interactions, settings, personality, and story. Disney did kinda rip them off, but I don't care Lion King was a big part of my childhood.
+Sean Taylor the overall story had some differences, but yeah you can tell that it was quite obviously derived from that source material.... but disney grabbing "inspiration" from anything that exists is nothing new.
+anyseattleteamfangamer yes the overall story and themes are based off of hamlet. But characters, deaigns, setting, interactions are almost copied and pasted from Kimba the White Lion.
+Sean Taylor The main theme of Kimba was always the human world vs the world of the animals. The backstory of the main characters are entirely different (Simba is born as a spoiled prince, Kimba is born in captivity after his father was already killed). Consequently the story of Kimba is about him fighting for the ideals his mother has instilled into him, and which originally came from his father, while Simba's story is about running away from his responsibilities until his past catches up to him. Most of the parallels between those properties are based on certain animals being a logical pick for a story told in Africa and familiar tropes, which turn up in one way or another in countless stories.
How closely can you copy a story without actually being sued? I'm pretty sure they should've been sued, same with the matrix actually.
And so once again the "I don't know what the words really are" song wins once again. It does that. Very well written and perfectly executed.
omg Calvin without a beard
Maybe it's only because I started watching Blind Wave once he went full King in the North, but seeing Calvin (and Eric) without any real facial hair always throws me off.
You guys make me smile so much whenever I watch you laugh! Especially when they showed the parody of Circle of Life.

Calvins' face at 6:00 best part of the react
Kimba the white lion is a movie that came before the lion king and its just like it
There have been several adaptations by now, but The Lion King probably bit off the first cartoon series adaptation (maybe without even realising seeing as the cartoon came out when the Lion king director was a small child, and we all sometimes take inspiration from early memories without actually remembering the original source).
@@Kaefer1973
Then why did Disney send a cease and desist order to Tezuka(which created the story in the first place) when they released a Kimba movie a year later?
It wasnt even that they copied then as both the films began production at the same time.
And the fact that Disney only released the movie AFTER the death of the creator.
I don't know if Disney is still the same but Disney at that time was an A-hole company.
@@LeclipsChannelAK I don't think that tells us if they were aware that they stole from Kimba or not though, it was probably not the people working on Lion King, but another part of the company keeping busy watching all business rivals that did so, which means the creative team was most likely uninvolved and probably not informed.
Anyway I certainly won't deny that Disney was and probably still is an dickish company, I just can't be sure who did what.
I remember when nestle crunch did the faces of people and cartoons on their candy bars I had simba man that was a long time ago. I also remember mellow yellow slushie
OMFG I literally have that exact same avengers poster in the back!!
There are conflicting tales on where Nala came from. One story is that Sarafina (her mother) was a wandering lioness, meet a male, became separated from him, and joined Mufasa's pride whilst pregnant with her daughter. In the tv series "The Lion Guard", however, he was rescued by a group called the Lion Guard, sworn to protect the Pride Lands, after he fell from a tree. He then presumably grew up in the Pride Lands, and either died or left the Pride Lands sometime around Nala and Simba's births.
arron where did you get that bulbasaur/pirana plant shirt?

This honest trailer is hilarious!

Kimba the white Lion is a Manga and Anime that was published in the 50s (manga) and 1965 (anime) i believe? He's basically saying the Lion King (1994) is a knock off.
I don't really care tbh.
We all know DBZ was basically "inspired" by the novel Journey to the West, even took the name of the character to name their main character (If you didn't know, Son Goku is the Japanese translation of Sun Wukong).
Then later was inspired by the DC superhero Superman.
But i still love DBZ anyway, just stating facts.
Also, due to the age of Kimba, it doesn't even have to be deliberate, when deciding how to do a Lion based cartoon, maybe they just got directed by an old Anime they saw as little children without even noticing.
It's not a direct copy like the Designs and lead chracters from Disney's "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" that were pretty much lifted From "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water" completely.
i knew there was a reason i felt weird about nala and simba when i got older but i forgot why. i did a report on lions and i didn't want anything to do with lions after that.
REWATCHING
Wall-e was my childhood
Woah, this video quite old but the crew young and less beard action
Those were weird ass boxes haha
The last part ruined my childhood 😭
TWILIGHT PRINCESS SHIRT!
Ruined my childhood in less than 4 minutes😂😂😂😂
i wasnt even in my moms womb when the lion king came out. I was born in 2001. The lion king is tied with bambi for my favourite disney movie
if you haven't seen it yet, please react to honest trailers the last airbender!
blastphamoushd has the best reaction till this day lol . . nice video tho 😂😂 . . .
was Aaron in songs in real life?
the other thing about lion king and african nature, is that lions and hyenas do hate each other. almost like a blood feud. they will kill each other's young if given the chance and male lions will kill hyenas and leave em for the vultures, not even eat them. so the distaste between the lions and hyenas in the movie is pretty legit.
I lauged so hard I cried
Look at these children! 😂 😂 😂 😂
Hahaha I freakin love you guys!!! Middle guys reaction to Nalas dad possibly being Mufasas cub is priceless. Very true bout the lions though... I think they go in and kill all the cubs, not just the males. Lions are mean lol
first guy on the left looks like Jesse Cox
it came out June 15th 1994.. i was 12 lol.. makes me feel really old hahaha
+Chad Gilliam I was only a few months away from turning 18! I felt so old when Eric talked about only being in the 2nd grade when it came out.
Nala's face tho!
Nala and Simba aren't related thankfully.
Apparently there were other male lions in the pride at one point, but supposedly Scar killed them all off-screen between Simba's birth and when Mufasa dies.
You guys have yet to see the honest trailer of Cinderella
Lion King was released in 1994
6:06 My reaction to the remake
He looks like Chandler
dad its me dominic is that you
The CNN reference is from a movie called Kung Pow : enter the fist
Eric looks so weird without his beard damn... keep that beard
I would recomend watching a video about the lion kind being compared to Kimba the white lion. It may destroy you a bit inside but I am glad I learned of it.
Kimba the white Lion was the reason I didn't watch this movie as a
child, the similarities seemed too beg to be coincidental and I didn't
like ripp-off's.
"Hey Guys! something something Blind wave. i'm eric!. i'm calum!" ------wait...Ca....Ca....cccalum??!!
Lion King came out in 1993 and sweet you watched it.
+Sean Taylor It premiered june 1994, I know cause I was born a month after that!

How old are they?
Wow, great reaction guys. Watching the whole video and barely speaking. Nice work. Jinx may be pissed you're stealing his style but whatever.
Video starts at 1:52
OML I'm rewatching their videos and WHERE IS CALVINS BEARD this feels wrong I feel uncomfortable
I hated the lion King, when someone brought it in school for everybody to watch, I was one of three kids to sigh in despair. I remember at Thompson holiday kids club, the pack leaders brought the tiger movie, my brother and I asked if we could rejoin my parents at the apartment, they said no. My parents wouldn't have minded, our sister was still with them. We told our parents once it was all over, and they were appalled...not just because they wouldnt let us go, but they too hated the tiger movie.( And the Lion King)
it came out in 1994-1995
You guys are so young 😂
Ahhh the horror beardless Calvin 😱😱😱🤔
Do a reaction to "Fallout 3 (Honest Game Trailers)"!
Three guys are watching and NONE of them batted an eyelid at the big "Kimba the White Lion plagiarism" controversial allegation surrounding this film?!? What??
1994 I was born the same year
Insert shticky Game of Thrones joke, because lions.
5:55 it was because that the lion king was a rip off or something of a movie called kimba the white lion
It was a classic anime series the similarities certainly are undeniable, however Kimba was a very old so the makers of the lion king could have seen it as children without really remembering it (it first ran in the 60's in both Japan and the USA).
I think the deliberate rip off probability is not nearly as big as between Disney's "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" and the only 10 years older "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water".
The lion king came out in 1994.
hahaha I luv honest trailers
We're the hell is your beard
so in a lion pride there are just like 2 male lions and rest 5-6 are females...? the fuck are these prides are just harems of the male lions then?
I like lion king 2 it's a good movie
It was made in 1994.
in a way kimba ripped of Hamlet
fun fact: scar's real name before he got the scar was taka, which means "trash" or "dirt" in swahili. meanwhile, mufasa was the name of an african king. what kind of parents name their kids king and trash lmao
LMAO
However, isn't it literally a fusion of Hamlet and Kimba, the white lion? They could've come up with better names than "king" and "trash" lol And even conceding to your point, one kid was named king, the other one was named scar because of a birth mark. Not as bad but not great either.
I think, and it's not a joke, at some point people did a study on what would happen if you named one kid winner and one kid loser and the result was what you'd expect, one was treated like shit, the other wasn't. It's what is called a self-fulling prophecy.
It's like calling a kid WeirdEye because he was born with a weird eye. You can see how that might be a problem can't you? xD It wouldn't surprise me if that kid ended up getting an automatic rifle and going berserk while shouting "imma burn this to the ground and declare myself king of the ashes"(essentially scars plan).
+LeTremulous TriassicCephalopod Again, if one kid is named King and the other is named Scar, even if it's because of a birthmark, it kinda sets them up one to be treated better than the other. Btw, a scar is not a birthmark, it's a wound that didn't heal properly so Scar couldn't possibly be born with that scar unless he suffered that damaged right before birth..
Even if they were twins and Mufasa scratched him at birth, which again, would be kind of mean to name a kid after a wound he suffered at birth.
+LeTremulous TriassicCephalopod Then my bad for assuming but considering this is the comment section... you never know xD
Still, even if that's the case and it is a birthmark my point stands. Naming a kid "Stumpy" because he was born without a finger or hand would still be kinda messed up and probably setting him up for failure. I'd say the same applies to Scar.
Nanna Hein Dont forget God just by these!
