There is also a baby monitor that goes under the mattress and it detects heartbeats. It's similar to what your using but doesn't go on the baby directly. It is very peaceful having it and it brings a lot of peace for a good night (or hour) of sleep. You guys are wonderful parents and Oliver is lucky to have you both.

Thanks for informing us there is a Mumford and sons Lullaby after little lion man!! Found it and will immediately start playing it for my (3yrs old in 4 days) daughter and I'm also 26 weeks pregnant with our little boy!
Watching you guys with Ollie makes me so much more impatient for my due date to get here. We are expecting our little girl in Oct. I love both your channels and watch daily, and it is truly amazing what you guys are doing by sharing your story with the world.

My son has sucked his thumb since he was 3 days old & still does now & he is 14 months. My pediatrician told me the thumb is WAY better than a paci because it teaches them to rely on themselves to self soothe instead of relying on a paci :) it only effects their teeth if they suck their thumb beyond 3 yrs old. I think thumb suckers are the cutest :)

I can't belive how well your moving around for just having a section. That's really awesome. You guys look pretty comfortable already as a cute little family. Xi
The umbical cord will usually come off in 7 to 21 days, when it comes off it leaves a small wound that may take a few days to heal. When the stump falls off, you may notice a little blood on the diaper, which is totally normal. You may clean the base of the stump once or twice a day with a cotton swab or gauze pad dipped in rubbing alcohol but it's not essential.
my daughter was 7 days old, and my son was 5 days old when the cord fell off. i used cloth the entire time, just made sure to keep the cord area clean, and you can roll down the diaper a bit to keep moisture away (usually newborns need to be changed so much the diaper doesnt really get a chance to get the cord area wet enough to do anything)

Such a cutie! just catching up on my daily bumps after being away, but wanted to say that when Ollie gets older keep unused batteries up and away. My brother swallowed a AAA battery at 6 months and had to get major abdominal surgery to get it out! xoxo love to ollie

All three of my girls umbilical cords fell off between 9-12 days old! I'm loving watching these baby Ollie vlogs! He's to precious for words! :)
It takes up to 10 days for the umbilical cord to fall off.

i got my daughter the angelcare monitor and it gave me a HUGE piece of mind. she was very premature and was in the NICU for almost 5 months. that monitor was the only reason i ever got any sleep! she's 19 months old now and i still use it! i ended up getting a separate video monitor because i was too poor to get the angelcare video monitor in the beginning... i definitely recommend it!
We used the Angel Care Monitor which is the same concept as the snooza, except it doesn't buzz them, it dings and 15 seconds and full alarms at 20, and its a pad that goes under the mattress. It gave me such peace of mind. Before we got it I literally couldn't sleep. I would just lay there watching her sleep and anytime I would drift off I would jolt awake to check on him.

Yay.... I love watching how much love there is between you all. I'm expecting my 4th baby any day now (due the 5th). This baby wasn't in the plans a few years ago and we were surprised that that was what the Lord asked us to do. (so no he wasn't a surprise or oops lol) Having three kids 6 and under is a hard work every day and I have only been thinking of the hard work a new baby will be. Until I saw the video of your first day in the hospital and saw all the love and sweetness. cant wait!
I love that Bryan scratches Ollie's belly. We had a dog for years before we had a baby and we had a hard time switching our brains to talk to a baby and not a dog. So funy!!
I know the umbilical cords typically vary. I'm newly pregnant so I'm not 100% sure on it but I know from experience with my nephews and niece that it varies. My nieces fell off shortly after coming home from the hospital and my nephews both had theirs for what seemed like forever!
