- A quick demo playing VR pinball with our PinStation. I am using a meta Quest 3 and play four different VR pinball games:
1) Zen Pinball FX VR - The Addams Family
2) Zaccaria pinball VR - Time Machine
3) Visual Pinball VR - Fathom / Fish Tales
4) Zen Star Wars VR (Quest) - The Empire Strikes Back / Droids
Te last one runs on the Quest itself and the PinStation is directly connected to the Quest.
While playing pinball you don't move around so it's great to play in VR. The tables look really beautiful and like real pinball machines. With the PinStation using the plunger and force feedback the feeling is fantastic.
check out gibsonpinball.com for our upcoming Kickstarter.
Finally! I’ve been wishing for a setup like this since I first started buying all of the tables that The Pinabll Arcade was releasing on a monthly basis. I foolishly believed that grabbing them all meant that I would have them forever. If you have to pay for something, you can pretty well guarantee that eventually somebody will go to court and find a way to take it away from you. Visual/Future Pinball forever!
Thanks! Yes, that was quite a letdown that they were forced to remove the tables. I do play pinball FX as well. Easy to install and start and I do like the native Star Wars tables for Quest.
Shut up and take my money already! 😂
Reminds me of when I finally got the HOTAS that’s identical to the cockpit in Elite Dangerous. Now, I just wish that they’d utilize the augmented reality features on Quest 3 to blend the game environment and the real world together to make the illusion absolutely perfect.
I I agree. Indeed, the combination of real world and VR is very nice. But wait and see what the future of pinball will bring. As pinball is quite 'static' and not much movement it is ideal for AR.
If you can confirm that it is 100% compatible with VPX VR, I will buy this.
Certainly is!! I will do some video where I'll show better how it works. I get many questions for more info.
Of course its fantastic! Virtuals pinballs are great only in vr! Flat is ridiculous; Sell your pinstation quick!! 😂
Seeing Addams Family I assume you played it with UEVR since Pinball FX sadly has no official VR support?
Yes, for now UEVR.Ias they switched to UNREAL and in december told there would be VR news I got good hope there will be official VR support for FX
Official support would be super cool.
What is the difference from Virtual Pinball PinOne Mini Machine that has been available for some time already?
Based on the products, we have a very different view on things. ,How it should look, how it should feel, how it should play. What users want and need to enjoy it to the max.. The PinStation not only works with PC but also with the Quest VR headset which others don't. We think this is mandatory for pinball gaming. We have a true plug & play controller with very nice force feedback, not only for flippers but also for things like bumpers and slingshots. Not only that, the PinStation is the only one which also has this for Pinball FX which normally doesn't have force feedback!!! We also have truly unique force feedback for plunger launch. We have a new plunger system that doesn't wear out like the classical potentiometer solution everybody else uses. Out unit is battery operated so no power plug ! The force feedback has different settings so you can dial it down when needed (still force feedback but quiter). We have a true lockbar to place your hands on, stainless steel siderails and nice graphics. The PinStation has an optimum width so it doesn't feel small but still like a pinball machine and yet isn't too big so fit's any desk and is easily transportable. It also fit's nicely on your lap if you want to play like that. The pinone- as far as we can judge - is more like a functional unit and not a finished consumer product. It looks completely different and had much less functionality. It has design choices we would not consider. Things like that.
What I want to make clear is that the PinStation is very well thought out. It is a plug & play consumer product that looks nice, feels good and plays fantastic. It will be made professionally in a larger production run and be available at a low price. Half the price of a Pinone. Designed by us - not only good designers but also true pinball, game and VR lovers who know what they are talking about.
@@gibsonpinball WHAT... half the price? that would be around ~140,- € incl. vat. I'll take 2 :D
@@IzeIzeBaby :)
@@IzeIzeBaby😂 I originally read it as "half the price of an iPhone"! I can't afford $1000 for this! It's time for reading glasses for this guy. 🤓
Why not add tracking markers so the position could easily be tracked in vr to be in correct location?
Tell me more. What do you mean exactly?
Great but make it the standard width of a standard pinball machine whatever that is
Yers, I understand. See what I answered to Charlie_Fucsard somewhere here in the replies to this video. Hope you understand why we made the choice. But, if there is a lot of interest we will do a full width model as well
I only play Future Pinball, but I'm sure it'll work. Definitely on my shopping list. I'll even endorse it on my channel.
Just release it already.
I'll come and pick it up in Holland myself if I have to 😂
Ive been wanting a controller like this for even flat screen/ps4/5 pinball big time.
Every time you post the more I want.
ARRRGH!!...TAKE MY MONEY!!!
BOA NOITE , COMO FAÇO PARA ENVIAR DINHEIRO (MONEY) PARA AJUDAR NO PROJETO DO PINSTATION , POIS QUERO COMPRAR UM , VOCE TEM PIX .
1st thought: Interesting, how'd they get realistic nudging on something so small and by all appearances light?
2nd thought: They're not going to show any nudging at all are they? Does it even support it?
3rd thought: No, no they aren't. Well this looks like crap.
Yes, you certainly can nudge by pushing. We have already shown it in other video's. Might have been better to show it in this video as well.
I have star wars pinball VR and pinball fx2 VR, all quest native. Will it work on them?
Please let us know when you set up your Kickstarter fund raiser. I'm SOLD!
As for the quest you have to connect it to the USB, maybe as an option you should propose a T kind of USB so we could connect the pinstation to the quest and charge it at the same time. :)
Do you have an idea how much this is going to cost? Do you have an approximate release date?
Why is there a speed blur behind every shot? Was that an artifact or part of the settings?
Just get it out to buy and take my cash! Please
Zen doesn't make a pinball FX VR I don't think
You can pinball FX in VR using the UEVR mod
@@gibsonpinball thanks for sharing this I didn't know about it!
Bro launch the Kickstarter my brother, dad and coworkers are salivating over this especially with tablet support
what do you mean by tablet support?
Kickstarter was indicated prior covid.
How real is it for release this year?
very realistic. We have changed the design and production requirements to be not too dependent.
Wow! I hope you guys can find a way to keep the cost real low on this, it looks really cool, but people are not going to buy it if it costs as much as a Quest 2 😂
It looks like it’ll be expensive, but I think if you want to sell in mass you have to look to be around the £50 to £80 area.
But good luck, I’ll be keeping my eyes on this as if the price is right… I’ll take one.
We understand very well what you are saying. With everything we do we look at the cost so it can be a kind of 'mass product', price/quality wise and compared to indeed a Quest 2 (of whom there are many more than the quest 3 we ourselves use) And for some players, certain features are not important at all. We might be doing a basic version. For instance plunger a is nice. Yet we now have a very nice force back emulation when pushing a launch button of a plunger being pulled and released. Feels and sounds really nice. Things like that. We are talking/discussing this internally and with consumers.
@@gibsonpinball Yes, of course its very important to have those small but yet important details, I think they are super important, after all... if it doesn't feel like the real thing... then what's the point.
My worry would be that if the price is so high... unless you are a pinball fanatic... no one will want it, they would rather buy another 6 or 7 games.
Note taken! Want I wanted to make clear is that that for instance for pinball fanatics the plunger is a 'must have' . But for someone who mainly plays in VR and is no pinball fanatic it might be much less important. You don't see the physical plunger and you only use it only for one second of every 3 minutes playing time, when launching a ball. Things like that may not be important to the general player. Who just wants to have a lot of fun and price is more of a factor than a 100% accurate simulation. And there are more, cosmetic aspects to the controller which are hardly important when using it as a VR controller. You simply don't see these while playing and therefore hardly notice it. Do we need stainless steel siderails and lockbar? So yes, we are looking into a basic version with still the necessary functions to have all the fun but at the lowest possible pricepoint.
@@gibsonpinball Thanks for taking the time to comment, I completely understand and will keep watching out on this development.
I want to buy a full package, headset, boards/software and the flippermax fx hardware price of a half a real pinball and im in!!
Please give us a release date !!!
the moment we have it I will immediately let you know!
Great idea, very narrow though compared to an actual pinball machine which must destroy the illusion a little bit.
But awesome otherwise.
Thanks. In understand very well what you are saying. Long answer: We have tried different prototype dimensions and the very first one a long time ago was full sized. While a full sized width does give good feeling (in VR, not with a regular monitor!) there are some drawbacks that doesn't make it the best choice. With full width the controller needs to become deeper as well. Otherwise the proportions are off and also the controller becomes a bit unstable. Such a large controller is too big for most desks, can hardly be used when placing it on your lap, becomes heavier, can not easily be picked up and stored or transported etc. As said, we tested many designs and dimensions and this is the optimum result for us. Combined with the fact that everything larger gets more expensive (materials, transportation) and we have come to our final product design.
One thing to add, if there is enough interest we will do a full width model as well.
@@gibsonpinballGood thinking on a wider option; there are definitely compelling arguments for both sizes.
Have you considered having an option to attach pinball legs to bring it to the right height?
For context, I'm using the Transforming TV Stand by Buystuff Arcades, which I'd encourage anyone to take a peek at if they're not familiar with it. Would a knocker be something you could see going in? It's such a distinct sound from everything else, but I would imagine it's hard to justify a part like that with only one job to perform.
@@Dadtheimpaler A knocker certainly is nice but yes, hard to justify the part and cost. To be honest, I also have a very dedicated VPX controller that has - with limited parts - even more force feedback. No one else has squeezed that much out of DOF! The rotating box in Theatre of Magic has truly fantastic gear motor like force feedback. And different when turning left or right. Same for Doctor Who and the raising of the plateau to the second or third level. But I am focussing on the PinStation as a universal solution with some emphasis on FX and VR.
I was thinking the same but the argument against is compelling, especially if you want to get your kids hooked haha!
Amazing tool. My wife wants a flipper at home but it is very expensive and there are so beautiful flippers on quest.
Does it work also on the quest 2?
Yes. Connect the USB cable from the PinStation to the Quest 2
@@gibsonpinball to be compatible with all pinball games means the thing will be configurable? As I guess not all pinball games use the same buttons.
@@harf4ng on PC it's not that different. But yes, it is configurable. And there are standard settings for certain games/devices. For Meta Quest for instance. With a button combination you can select the setting you need.
@@gibsonpinballanyway this device will be amazing. Hope it will be available before years :).
An exemple with fx2 pinball on the quest. Most flippers use the right thumb stick to push the ball. Except the earth defense one where you have to press A.
I'll have a look at all tables and see if it works properly.
Is there a Bluetooth version for meta quest? I don't like cables
Target price point?
Latest news, We are aiming at around 150 US$/euro. Sturdy wood that feels solid and can take a punch, metal lockbar and siderails, nice customisable graphics prints, , electronics, force feedback,, leaf buttons for flipper operation, accelerometer nudging etc. This is a real good pricepoint for what you get. Exactly as we want it :)
That's a fair price point. I'm watching checking my email waiting for the launch.Any ETA on when we can buy?
@@gibsonpinball Thank you for your detailed response, can't wait well done.
