You can check out my video about "Why To Change How You Think About Your Allies - Napoleon Total War", but this is very army and enemy dependent. Typically this is easiest to do when your in position to threaten with infantry assault if they divert force and/or sending cavalry to support your ally.

You got any guides on being able to support your ally while still keeping your opponent busy in a 2v2

I like micro-managing rifles, but at the end of the day they just don't put out enough firepower and are too vulnerable to cavalry/melee.
