  • My wife and I recently travelled to Kandolhu and stayed for 10 nights. It's an amazing island and one of the best resorts for which we have ever stayed. The island is tiny and only takes around 5-7 minutes to walk around. The weather was perfect for our stay and this video captures our typical day on the island. Enjoy.

Hi Aaron! Are you able to swim directly from your room or is it not deep enough to swim? Thank you!

Hi Aaron, how was your overall experience there? We are torn of between Kandolhu and Milaidhoo. Also, did you book directly or through travel agent? If you could share your thoughts, that would be amazing. Thank you :)

Hi Joanna - Milaidhoo is definitely a higher level resort on the ground. The rooms there look incredible! Kandolhu will be a lot cheaper.
If you will be spending most of your time in the room or on the island I would splurge for Milaidhoo. I have heard only great things.
If snorkelling is your first priority I would still suggest Kandolhu. The food and service was very good at Kandolhu but the snorkelling was excellent. We have not been to Milaidhoo but understand the snorkelling is probably not quite as good as Kandolhu.
We book through agents most of the time. Magic of Maldives is who we used this trip.

@@aaronfinnis8752 Hi Aaron, thanks so much for your prompt reply. This is super helpful.
You're right, Milaidhoo cost more and doesn't have ultimate inclusion like Kandolhu. Though I love the ocean villa view from Kandolhu that its infinite and nothing in front of it which I find Mailaidhoo sometime you still see island or things in your view. Both resort has its benefit I guess. Thanks again for your reply :)

@@joannay.5637 Milaidhoo is a busier part of the atoll and I understand there is a lot of seaplane traffic. If you want peace and quiet Kandolhu is one of the best resorts we have been to. The view from the water villas is incredible. Only Mirihi has rivaled it.

@@leah1570 thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. that's exactly why we are torn on which one to go with, totally agree the views from Kandolhu resorts is infinite and unbelievable. we are planning to go there for honeymoon so food and activities on the island is also one of our top priorities, I heard both resorts are great but Milaidhoo's food is better?!

@@joannay.5637 I cannot comment on how much better Milaidhoo's food is. As Aaron wrote above we have not been there.
I do have a friend who has been to both. She says that Miliadhoo is more sophisticated than Kandolhu and she would consider it better overall, but because they are different styles of cuisine it is harder to otherwise explain.
My two cents is if you can stretch the budget to Milaidhoo, do it. You can always head to Kandolhu for another occasion/cheaper trip. If Milaidhoo will push the budget too much Kandolhu is an incredible option. We were never hungry and did not get bored with the plentiful, delicious, food.

Great video! I came back from Maldives 4 weeks ago and I want to go back again soon. Is there a public pool in the island?
