Until this day, she's still make me so mad because of her naiveness. She thinks this war have nothing to do with them yet they lived and raised in the highlands and adopted by war hero. Jowy and Riou also take part on unicorn brigade as trained young army to defend highland from jowstown. And yet she denied the fact and reality of their life situation just because she wants live under peace that could never happen if war still raging. She manipulated Riou to runaway from his date and harming a lot of innocent people who willingly give their life for him to end the war. In the end of the game Rious have more than 25000 people as army that their life are dependent by his leads. . Nanami is just egoistical and naive teenager but the horrible situation of war shouldn't let her to think that way.
actually this scene give a chance for humane side of the hero Like you fight with your best friend, your country is tossing away you, you now have a big burden to bear as the new liberation leader this show the humane side of the hero: he can give up even though he is a hero, it's just another side of humane in his mind
I agree with you. Wars are horrible & they won't stop. I feel sad to know that Ridley was killed & feel sorry for those who become victims after Riou left & stop becoming leader of the army. Sometimes it takes more courage to put down the weapon & decide not to fight, even if you know that you have the power to win.
It's an affront to the destiny narrative, that the game continually perpetuates. I love the characters and find the setting compelling here, but when I realized I finally got a chance to make a decision for myself here and for the sake of personal peace, even despite the selfishness of it, it felt empowering in a way. It's a hard choice to make, but ultimately, you are just a kid in this game. You're a child soldier, throughout this entire game and I know the theming neglects to really show how horrible that would be, it definitely shows the horrors of war: but it doesn't give you the agency a lot of the time, to get out of your circumstances like any reasonable kid who had everything taken away from them would. I think calling the ending bad isn't true, it's bleak; but at least hopeful for the protagonist despite running away from what is viewed as your fate and responsibility. When you are asked if you want power initially, the most frustrating part about it, was that you couldn't say no. They corner you into accepting this fate, then guilt trip you for not fulfilling it. But this, shows how that is a narrative tool to drive home the point and maybe I'm overanalyzing here. But the good ending isn't necessarily good either, if you take in the context of how even after McDohl in the first game wins the war for liberation, he still choices not to lead. The moral here is; "The only truly just power, belongs to the one who seeks to relinquish that power." I think that's compelling and this ending supports this idea.
@@MazzyMalkav In the true ending Riou also decided to leave the kingdom and travel with his friends. Both McDohl and Riou were free and relinquished their power after they've fulfilled their responsibilities. On the other hand I'm not sure it's okay to abandon the responsibility which many lives still heavily depends on at that time even if it's not your choice. You may see it as terrible fate, but to forsake so many lives to save your own in any circumstances.... Even if you say being selfish is "humane" and can't be helped I can't see it as something to be encouraged about. At least you have to feel some remorse.
This route is very interesting. It shows that you either chose escapism or going back into being a leader. The ending is heartbreaking though because everyone (except nanami) is just straight up disappointed in you. And Shu giving that Asian discipline slap tho lol
@silentecho92able I'm glad he's in the super robot wars games 🤣 wish he had his own mech to do that as a slap, but white base and other battleships like captain Hallock are a nice diversity. Glad sd gundam genesis/cross rays are spinoffs too.

With a young Amuro and the Whitebase. An maybe we could get Gundam war in the pocket, so that Amuro could get the Alex Gundam as originally intended, and maybe Char could get the Perfect Zeong too. An wish we get Space Battleship Yamato 2202 reason being is not only the Yamatos return but Abelt Dessler and Gihren Zabi interacting. @silentecho92able I was disappointed when that sd gundam action game didn't have local multiplayer nor mass produced big zam. I needed that team lol to be like the fat boys are back 🎶
I did this ending as my first ending, while thinking Nanami's feeling... Sad, but best storyline. Teaching us that running away are not always the best choice. Liked Nanami's ending lines... "There's no way back..." And I feel so bad about the people, and feeling safe as seeing picture of the woody house.
This is a fair ending choice. No more Luca Blight. Riou and Jowy don't need to fight and Nanami doesn't get killed. Viktor, Sierra and Khan can definitely beat Necrold. For the city state, Muse's army and Tinto will colaborate with Dunan Army to fight Highland.
Sadly, Jowy may die in this ending since he's using his rune to stop the Beast rune power from bring released. You can refer to the 'perfect' ending, when he want to give Riou his rune. It also kinda hint why Riou keeps fainting after using the rune
I never got & never knew about this ending, until now. Tbh, I don't find that the ending is that bad at all, (except seeing that Riou kept fainting concern me of what's going to happen to him. It's as if his Rune is consuming his life force or something) Shu & others (including some of us players) can consider that running away is a coward thing or whatever, but if it's a real war situation & not a game, how can one be sure that he will win? Even if he trusts his army & allies, but let's just say that he ends up losing the war anyway, people will blame Riou for the failure. I'm not going to go on posting too much debatable stuff about it, but here's my 2 cents about this ending: Shu & the Dunan army should just suck it up & find themselves another leader & not to force the burden on just ONE guy who decided to put down the weapon & just want to live in peace with his adopted sister Edit: After rewatching the other/ 'perfect' ending, I begin to realize that Riou/the hero & Jowy may not live a long life in this ending. According to Jowy in the 'perfect' ending, their 2 runes are a True Rune as one, but using it by itself will cost the bearer's life. Riou/the hero may not have to face & battle Jowy if he quit being the army's leader but seems like Jowy will die anyway because he's using his Black Sword rune to stop the Beast rune power that Luca tried to set free
I think Riou would also eventually die as his Rune is all about protection and he runs away from the destiny that fell to him. That’s probably why he starts passing out. By denying his burden, the rune will take his life
That image of a cabin at the end is such a burn. Big bad Liberation Army leader, piggybacked out of danger by his big sister, fleeing responsibility at every turn, just to wind up a prematurely retired coward, hiding out in a cabin with his sister.
