Hey squad with most skid steers in real life you can just undo a few bolts to remove the cab With the massy Ferguson skid steers they only had a roll cage without any mesh or windows so it was a roof and four pillars Hope this helps

Could you please define your use of "solid front axle"? From the sixties through the ninetys, Ford had the famous "Twin I Beam" front suspension in their pickups. This allows each front wheel to move independent of the other. It drastically improved the ride, but had a few issues, and Ford abandoned it in 1997.
