I was at BK from 1973 -1975 as a medic. I went there for a nostalgia walk just the other day. All the old barracks seem to have been pulled down; a nice circus in the old tank parking. I found Camp Wollbach with everything in place although all the buildings were improved in the 90s. I recognize some of the folks in the photos. Thanks for putting this on line.
Hello LightsActionRollem. The Pictures at 2:13 is not really a Place in Bad Kissingen right? I living in BK an never seen a Place like this one. Can u tell me where this is? Thanks
I was with HHT 2/14 ACR from Mar. 72 until August 72. I transferred over to E Troop and we became 2/11 ACR when they left Nam. I served with 2/11 ACR until November 1975. I left BK in October 1977 after serving with the Post HQ.
Glad to find a post from someone else in BK at the same time. Your husband's CO was Lt Col Miller. He and his family lived next door to us on Pfalzstrasse. My dad was CO of the 2/28 FA also at Daley Kaserne. Still remember what beautiful place BK was even though I was only in Jr high school. Maybe you remember the tense times when the Berlin Wall went up and the next year sweating out the Cuban missile crisis. When I was stationed in Germany in the early 70s, I returned to visit the town. Good memories.
Any one from How Battery, 2nd of the 11th arc from 73 to 75 around.... would be kool to find one the heathens out there. Jimmy Morgan, Sargent Milton, Brantly or any other of the red legs about.
@jakecrow I was with How Battery 2/11 from Nov '76 to 'Nov 78. Sgt Milton was my section chief. A piece of shit he was. The short-timers when I arrived were Short-Round, Micky Jones, Corporal Daniels, Locke, and chief of smoke Mercado. I remember many more faces but names escape me now. Oh, I was in sixth section. The gun's name was Hulk, but I believe we renamed it after you left.
