- SCP 001 is an Apollyon Class anomaly also known as When Day Breaks.
SCP 173 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Sculpture.
SCP-001 is the designation given to the Sun, after an event occurred that resulted in roughly 6.8 billion casualties within the first twenty-four hours. Upon contact with visible light produced by SCP 001, living organisms liquefy at the point of contact, with the effect spreading until the entire organism is converted into a form resembling melted wax. Organisms exposed to SCP001 though, do not perish.
SCP-173 is constructed from concrete and rebar with traces of Krylon brand spray paint. SCP173 is animate and extremely hostile. The object cannot move while within a direct line of sight. Line of sight must not be broken at any time with SCP-173. Personnel assigned to enter container are instructed to alert one another before blinking. Object is reported to attack by snapping the neck at the base of the skull, or by strangulation.

A good story for 173. But I can only imagine how it'd go insane in it's own way when it can no longer find people to kill. Though there is a silver lining. It could hunt SCP-682, who is actively hunting and eating the glob creatures at night.

I saw a different video on this topic and remember him being much more sophisticated and complex. I remember an inverse 096, he loved it when his beauty had been taken in, but was overwhelmed with sadness and disrespect once they looked away, reminding him of the monster he was. I remember him stuck in his cell until his "fluids" flooded the cell months maybe years after the event which then hit a breaking point, destroying the cell and letting him witness the terror outside
it's like that one episode of the twilight zone where the world ends and that guy is the only survivor and he gets to read all the books he want by himself forever, but then his glasses broke

How many stories are where he is sentient? 3 or more with this one? I saw 2 when I looked long ago for SCP 173, which is strange. One where he did lots of clones and one when he transform a man to something similar to it or equal. This stories always looked strange to me.

it really just wants to hear crunching noises. i did mostly tame it by giving it things that can make crunching noises when it uses them so satisfy its need to make crunching noises and in exchange for those crunching noise objects it basically is a guard dog. also if you give it opaque aviator sunglasses it (DATA EXPUNGED) even when your looking right at it.

The blobs being able reconstitute the bodies they absorb to trick ppl is a terrifying ability
But their attempts are usually pretty transparent, being unable to truly replicate normal faces or voices.

Videos on scp 173 redesign explain better than I do so you should probably watch those
The simple version: The SCP Wiki ceased using the image that was used for 173's face claim despite having permission. Thus various SCP channels and fan games now have to come up with their own designs. Though I feel this redesign in particular is kind of lazy. Just a fat, disproportionate thing with the original head just to remind the audience what it is. Perhaps someday we'll get a video on the subject but doesn't seem likely.
The original image wasnt made for the wiki, it was used with permission from the artist, however, the wiki has now decided to remove it because the permissions weren’t the same as the create commons of the wiki, so they’ve removed it so a better image can be used that doesnt have the same requirements
@@skem9622 incorrect. The wiki used the image thinking that the user who submitted it was the artist. Recently, the original Japanese artist became aware of its use (and the wiki found out that it wasn't submitted by the artist). The original artist gave them permission to use the original 173 art, but the wiki decided to change it out of respect
Its so interesting to see how this phenomenon affects the different anomalies. I hope we get many more day break stories.

EDIT: Props to the channel for being up to speed regarding 173's design. If I remember this right, there was a copyright issue with the art that was the reference for 173's design and they had change 173's design to what's in this video.
No if I remeber correctly the submitter of the photo wasn't the true artist and when the artist figured out he still gave permission but they changed it out of respect

Interesting. It’s quite the paradox to see how understandable the violent demeanor of 173 can be while you can also judge it as being simple and having an impenetrable mindset. Actually no, for a trapped creature whose nature is moving at incredible speeds, it’s hatred towards humanity is very explainable and understandable.
Still my favorite scp, so simple, so terrifying… I can easily imagine how it is the originator of the whole scp multiverse.

Since, from what I remember, the Startling Statue also only moves when not looked at, what if they placed both statues in a way where they looked at each other, so neither could move again.

@@A_Rookie Huh, good question, I mean scp 650 seems to have a similar power to scp 173 since people not directly observing them they could move, so if both are in the same room they could possibly not move (they both seem to be somewhat indestructible so even if scp 173 attacks maybe scp 650 would be fine)
