Ive just purchased one of these (2023) and it's much more expensive from what it was 8 years ago (inflation???) and more to the point its the same exact machine hence this video has aged extremely well !!

I like it but i hate that waste with every label. For me cartridges price is important because I plan to print a lot. I liked this printer because cartridges are cheap. But with this waste, I an not sure any more. I have a question. What types of material they have? Is there self lamination?
Sergey Romanov, yes, P-Touch printers use a self lamination TZe tape. Is a five-layers tape (from topside down): 1. Clear polyester (PET) laminate; 2. Acryl adhesive; 3. Colored polyester (PET) substrate; 4. Acryl adhesive; 5. Removable paper substrate. So, is a PET, the same material as a drinking water bottle. The Ink is located between layers 1 and 2.
Sergey Sudakovskiy What I meant by self lamination type is the type of labels that can wrap around a wire and self laminate. Something like Rhino Self lamination labels.
Hi, I been having issues when making patch panel style labels directly on the printer without the app. If I do a block size of 18.1mm the sizing is out after a few blocks, via the app its correct. (the blocks line up with multiples of 18.1mm) I logged this issue with brother which was passed onto their development team and state its "working to spec". (I am waiting for an email confirming what the mean) However the support person said someone else has reported this issue, and stated it worked fine on older firmware (2018ish), which the development team say is not correct. I am running version 1.25, I was wondering if you had an old version you could test with? Thanks, Tom

On yes which brother would give us an answer about there printers wasting labels . 10years ago there printers didn't wast any. Now technology are surpose to be better. But in the meantime brother does this to make more money milking you as far as the can. So actually I should keep every cut off and take it In for a refund.

I wouldn't one of these unless you can replace the cutting blade.
