This reminds me of the envelope corners we used to use as kids to hold our place in a book. However, it's much prettier and will last longer. ❤ Thanks!❤
I just finished 4 of these! I used light weight fusible interfacing for the first one and tried the others without and I' okay without the interfacing! An excellent gift for my many grandchildren who love to read! Thanks for the inspiration! 😊
You can but I purposely did not want topstitching showing across the print. It's small enough not to need it. The fabric will not shift. Thanks for watching!😊
I’ve made 200 of these, sell them. Such great stocking stuffers, gifts for teachers, every service person in your life, family, friends. They are great. I didn’t use your tutorials or idea because I just saw it. But they are addicting to make.
Bless you for showing me a simpler way to make these...❤ I've struggled making these lay flat & having my fabric pull to the side, I was using fusible fleece because I had it on hand & it's my go to. Using fusible medium interfacing has made all the difference. Thank you, thank you... 🙏
I am teaching my 6 year old daughter how to sew and this will be our very first pattern. I am super excited for this one since she is an avid reader already. Thank you for such an easy to follow video. I will subscribe and look for more of your videos
Boy google has your site messed up. If I didn’t like the ease of your directions would have moved on to another site. Then it took me to instagram when I tried to leave a comment to compliment you. Just FYI GREAT and easy directions and not dragged out. Yours is the best site I visited for this!
Thankyou for sharing this tutorial 🙏 so easy, neat and precise. You have such a calming voice…I enjoyed watching this, you’re a natural & I look forward to making some of these as little gifts 🤗
The original towel is a great pattern! I have made so many that I had an acrylic template made by an Etsy seller so I could streamline the process. I’ve made 100 or more towels. Sell for $10 each. But it does use a lot of fabric. Which isn’t cheap.
Hiii! Where can I find one of those rotating cutting things and the fabric slicer thing!! I have need struggling to cut my fabric and I never thought of getting one!!

Yes! Made with nice paper.
I usually use a Kleenex to mark my place. Until I saw the tutorials on another page. So many fun fabrics to use!!
Very cute, good scrap buster, like that the bookmarker has double purpose...also a coaster if your sipping coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.🧵🪡
Oh thank you!

I wondered how it would be without the interfacing!!
Made book marks it's very interesting to stitch and good to use
Glad you found it useful!
Great tutorial. I know several book lovers, this would make wonderful surprise gifts sent in a Have a Happy Day card 😊 Thank you.
Great idea!
Thank you! I love that this has dual uses . . . book mark and coaster.

Excellent - Just a thought - I would have sewn the triangle edge before sewing all fabrics together.

I plan to make for book club members. I might add their initial and blanket stitch the diagonal fold in contrasting thread. Love.
Thanks for watching😊
Ooh, this will make a fab project to make with my 6 year old! I showed him how to fold a paper bookmark, but it's looking tatty already. Thank you 😊
We made the bookmark. He was thrilled, and it's already taken the place of the paper one we'd made. Thank you!
Wow you didn’t waste any time! Glad he liked it! The back piece is great for fussy cutting too.
I've made several in the past year! Everyone loves them. ❤️ 2:14

I just tried this-it looks like a jug, not perfectly squared but it’s cute. Thank you! ❤
You’re welcome 😊
Atta girl! Keep on trying, just don't give up. Mine came out pretty chunky, but I'm going to persist until I master it! : )

hello why do you need interface pieces? is it ok to make a bookmark without the interface ? thanks for your sweet help ! 💝💝
Yes you can! Interfacing gives the fabric some stiffness. You don't have to use it especially if you are already using a heavier fabric.
@@NotchesSewing ah ok i understand, thank you so much for your quick answer ! 😍😍💖💖
Well made video with clear instructions but made 2 and I’m not a fan of them so I’m moving on.
Thank you 😊
I'll have new bookmark tutorial soon. You can use these as coasters instead......
Hiii! Where can I find one of those rotating cutting things and the fabric slicer thing!! I have need struggling to cut my fabric and I never thought of getting one!!
You can always find links for the tools I use down in the description of the video
@@NotchesSewing thank you!!🙃
Can they be made without the interfacing? Or do they need it?
If you fabric is heavy, you can get away without the interfacing. If you are using quilting cotton, it is better with it to give it some body.
❤❤❤
Thank you!
I cannot find fusible interfacing anywhere :( Any other ideas?
I have links for supplies down in the description of video. Thanks for watching🙂
