Michael Yamashita Poised to Be an Ace - MLB The Show 24 Colorado Rockies Rebuild Franchise - Ep. 18

Helllooo everybody and come along for the ride as I take on the task of rebuilding the Colorado Rockies here on MLB The Show 24.
In this episode, our Rockies stumble into May after an abysmal start to the season after finishing April at 6-20. We'll look to pick up our play in May as we're free-falling down the standings out of the gate. It's going to be a sim-heavy episode as we work through almost the entire month.
We'll start with a Player Lock game as Michael Yamashita, the #3 overall pick from the 2024 MLB Draft debuting as the #27 prospect in the league. Yamashita opened in AA ball with the Hartford Yard Goats as he's started at 1-2, but sporting very good numbers which includes a complete game shutout within his first five starts.
After a very good showing from Yamashita, we'll jump back to The Show as we go into a key moment against the Atlanta Braves. Trailing by two runs with one out in the bottom of the 8th, the bases are loaded as Elehuris Montero steps up to the plate as a pinch hitter. Can the Rockies get some late-game heroics going and steal a win from arguably the best team in the National League?
We'll continue to work through May as we decide to call up Yanquiel Fernandez back to the majors and he provides an instant spark. To close we'll jump into a Player Lock game with Anthony Santander against Joe Musgrove and the Padres as Santander has mightily struggled to start his career in Colorado.
In the next episode, we'll pick back up towards the end of May and simulate into June. We'll kick things off with a 2025 MLB Draft Preview and dissect some prospects along with our draft strategy this season after going heavy on the pitching last year. The Rockies finished May on a hot streak and look to carry that over as we dig deep into this Year 2 season.
