Given that one can literally fly, I can see why. Heck Tails was faster than Sonic in Adventure by virtue of just how busted flying in 3D actually is, even if with limitations.

I absolutely love this mod, just missing the long jump. Also I’ve had a few crashes where the game would fail to access certain memory locations. Not exactly sure where to send a bug report on this mod tho lol

Off topic but i recently finished Transformers Devastation, 8/10 for the rating, this game was marvelous and deserve a sequel so much(Take off 2 points because the devs didn't add a lock on feature.And f*ck Blitzwing)

Don't forget to backward long jump in the volcano's first wall to clip to the ball section to save yourself a couple of seconds.

@@crispy9542 Granted, this is more for casual speedrunning vs extremely perfected vanilla Sonic run by actual speedrunners. I wanted to showcase merely how ridiculous N64 Mario mod is.
Your average player won't ever get close to these times with vanilla unless they practice an extremely long amount of time, at which point... they aren't a casual speedrunner anymore.

Mario in SMB was faster than Sonic in Sonic 1.
That Game Theory video I poke fun at is flawed because it applies not only Sonic 06 measurements (the tallest and lankiest Sonic has ever been) to classic Sonic sprites of all things, but only takes into account the base running speed of Sonic and not when rolling or even running on down slopes. And you and I know, Sonic even in Sonic 1 can go faster than his normal running speed.
