For Americans watching and I’m sure he knows this as well, they water the pitch a lot in Europe, half time and before the game, at least in the bigger leagues and so the pitch is naturally wet almost all the time regardless of it it’s raining so naturally most players in that tend to play in soft ground, I prefer soft ground but sometimes you can’t really find pitches that are the best suitable for it without tearing it up through so I use firm ground as well but I’ve always felt more comfortable in soft ground even in primary school the first proper boots I got were metal studs soft ground ones and only when I first left the UK to live in China I knew about firm ground then in the us practically everyone (I’ve met) wears firm ground, (I’m usually surprised if I see someone in sg boots)
I'm italian and in the serie a, a lot of players use these type of boots. In italy we call them "mixed studs" and they actually go very well in more pitches than the fg studs, they are very good on normal grass, on soft ground and the plastic studs are actually very important for the traction and the fell
7:41 uh he was pointing to nothing, you can see where it says fusion skin a little on the right of where he is pointing, just wanted to point that out, great video
I LOVE MY MERCURIAL VAPOR X SG SOOOOOO MUCH. THERE'S HONESTLY SUCH A DIFFERENCE IN TRACTION AND I'D RECOMMEND IT IF THE PITCHES YOU PLAY ON ARE SOFTER GRASS OR EVEN JUST NORMAL GRASS.
@@mrschnigglepoo ah I see, I'm not too sure did the world cups come with plastic ones,if they did they'd just be plastic sg ones, was just wondering what u meant.i thought the setup on those aces was brilliant but I imagine Adidas knew they were gonna make more money if their boots were suitable for all surfaces
You forgot to mention why the different lenght size of studs, being the Argentina style the longest ones available and those wearing current adidas cleats are the shortest in length! 🤯 Cheers!
I have a pair of SG's that i keep, but only really use 1-2 times per year. If ur on a budget it's not worth it. However, I've had the same pair of Tiempo legend 5 sg's for almost 4 years now so.
That's what I did growing. I bought a pair that I liked, and because I would only ever need them a few times per season, they last a long time. If you feel like you need them sometimes, it's better just to have them in your bag in my opinion.
Just got a pair! Included everything in the box you showed except the stud wrench. I haven't used them yet. Will it be ok to tighten studs by hand rather than with a stud wrench, or will I lose studs?
Hey just bought the tekela 1.0 Pro. First high end shoe and it feels so much better than the cheap take down models I always buy. Lol thx for the deals of the week page and do your color changing laces actually change color????
Because this is a video about laceless boots, I’m going too ask a question about your laces! So I just got the Nike mercurial vapor in the game over pack colorway, I like my laces shorter so I went too look for junior laces in yellow, but you don’t have any, but you sell bright tangerine, will those look good on my cleats? Or should I just get the adult size yellow refectives? Will they be long if I wear a size 10? Thank you James, Kendrick
On a size 10, you definitely want the regular length rather than Jr length for Mercurials. Yellow Reflective is definitely the way to go on that colorway.
really depends. adidas studs are only 8/11mm so in super wet conditions they don’t offer great traction. i wear predator 18.1 leather sg with 11/13mm studs and they are a lot better but most the season in england is wet
They wear them because.. It helps them poop easier!!!! (The traction helps to dig your heels in especially on soft ground. It makes for a good hard pooping. Satisfying!)
Does SG boots perform worse than FG or increases injury risk on dry grass pitches? Or are SG worth buying since they perform better on soft grounds and maybe the same on firm grounds?
Depends on whether you're actually talking about 'firm' ground or 'hard' ground.'firm' ground you should be fine, alot of pros still wear sg in April/may when ground would be 'firm'.very 'firm' to 'hard' ground wouldn't be ideal for sg studs
Hi. Know im a bit late, but what happens if you wear them on artificial grass. Ive tried it and i cant find any differences and it works just fine. someone plz help

Hi josh do u believe that the copas in Fg are a bad idea to wear on Ag due to the durability, I’ve had a lot of my friends say that their Copas are tearing due to the soft upper , what’s ur opinion on the durability?
I live n New Jersey, and this fall was the wettest soccer season that I've ever experienced. Since my feet have stopped growing I purchased the Adidas world cup SG cleats. Best. Purchase. Ever. I cannot number the amount of times my high school team played on a crappy, muddy field and I was able to outrun an opponent who was slopping through the mud. Another plus to metal studs is being able to dig into an opponent if the piss u off. Would definitely recommend getting an SG pair of cleats to compliment your play if u can afford it
I have something called severs which means I have to wear special insoles that raise my heels would I still be able to wear lace less boots comfortably¿
If you're wearing special insoles for the sake of support and stability, laceless is not the way to go. Not to mention fitting those in a laceless boot might not work out too well.
When u showed the picture of cr7 @ Madrid , look at the plate of the boot , no anti clog. Is it only made for pros ? Cause I would like to have the anatomical sole plate and sg studs
Hi Josh. Does Mercurial Superfly 6 Pro FG (raise on concrete pack) have ACC technology? Because I cant found the ACC logo on it but your review on this particular boots said it have ACC technology.
I saw your laces at my local soccer store. I was shocked but they are really great laces!
You should do a video talking about how you started collecting cleats, how much you make, and more stuff about what you do.
Wait... No string bag!!! What a freaking ripoff, definitely won't waste my money! Lol

SG boots are essential in the UK, even well-maintained pitches are often very soft/muddy.

PROS wear them because the grass is watered a lot before games to make the game faster. But the negative thing is that the ground is very slippery .
nice review johan
Remember when Morata was wearing copa 19.1s with a nemeziz sole plate? Perhaps this is why.
