These are great. I'd love a men's sandal with a strap around the heel. I love a flip flop for casual wear but would be nice to have a pair that is better for walking that is easier to keep on your feet.

I'd love to buy a pair but I hate having the strap between my toes. would be awesome if you could make a pair without that and put like 3 straps around the top of the foot and a strap around the back that could be fitted with velcro. something like that would look awesome in a dark tan leather. I'll keep Checking back to see if you have something like that in the future.

I love the crafting that goes into these but I really look forward to seeing what styles you make for mens. At the moment it lacks any style beyond the traditional flip flop and for long walks incant wear those. So hopefully you'll make some that also have a strap that wraps around the ankles! Great video.
CrispyFrenFry thank you very much. Our sandals and styling was inspired by women who wanted their men to wear nicer styled sandals to be worn with summer shorts and polo shirts instead of more clunky type sandals. These are definitely NOT designed for hiking, but for nicer wear.
@@TrentonHeath I believe there can be some nice styled sandals for men that also include straps - flip flops aren't the only available style (and, to be honest, it speaks to me more of an house shoe that of a nice outside sandal)

My wife received her sandals yesterday from Southern Polished. She loves them. I was impressed with quality and hopefully I can get her to buy another pair and move away from the expensive fashion brands that are made overseas.

I love the look of scrappy sandals, but my feet are very slim and long, so everytime I try it on, the straps are way to loose. But with your method of construction, it looks like you could actually custom the length of the straps.

Very nice sandals, I can only wear OOFOS sandals and shoes ( due to bad feet), but Oofos, while comfortable, are aesthetically ugly, would you be willing to custom make a nice pair of shoes/ sandals with oofos type sole?

Jennyanydots 85 ladies normally can wear 1 1/2 size less than men in sandals. Our smallest men’s sandals is a 13. Email us at customerservice@potterandsons.com and we’ll do some measuring for you to see is a 13 Mens will work.
I actually wear a mens size 15, not women's. I don't even know what size I am in women's shoes. I haven't worn women's shoes since middle school (I'm 35), and I was wearing a size 13 in women's then. ..... I just have humongous feet 🤷
You must sell a lot of the mens flip flops. They are very nice looking - guess I am going to be grabbing the American Bisons until the Classics are back in stock. Had nooooo idea you guys made them!
Really cool. From my personal experience the leather center toe strap (men's sandals) always breaks. I have owned at least 20 sets of leather sandals, and the center toe strap always wears down and snaps after about a year of normal wear. It takes a lot more abuse than you would imagine. I actually won't buy sandals with leather in between the toes, because I know it is going to be the point of failure. I'm sure you aren't interested in using nylon, but nylon center straps can handle the abuse, it is more comfortable, and will last for years without maintenance. Perhaps a cotton or a cotton polyester blend would be an acceptable compromise.

Hello from Florida. I have been watching your videos for a several months and I've finally broke down and bit the bullet by finally logging in. Thank you very much for your informative videos, I have learned a lot in what goes on in leather shoe/boots and now sandals. I have a couple questions. First, do you repair Birkenstock sandals? I have a pair so worn out that the cork has broken down and the rubber sole has nearly worn through. This is the burning questions I've had for months, I just never bothered asking y'all until I saw this video. Second, regarding the leather. Do you use only cow hide or other (such as bison or deer)? The differences between the sole leather (thicker/denser) verses the uppers/tops (more malleable) is because they are from different areas of the hide? That is just a confirmation question. Oh, and thirdly, I have a pair of boots, GH Bass, that I wore for several years, hiking along trails in Florida all the way to North Dakota that needs some TLC. Thank for any answers and assistance!

Blayne Cooper the stacked heels give some arch support. We also use poron padding, which is the best product to give a bounce back feel.

FilthUD the tacks just wont crimp, can scratch your wooden floors. That’s why we rough up the leather and use multiple coats of glue to compensate.

I love the look of scrappy sandals, but my feet are very slim and long, so everytime I try it on, the straps are way to loose. But with your method of construction, it looks like you could actually custom the length of the straps.
Can you make an “upscale” Birkenstock type shoe? Birks are my guilty pleasure, but as a shoe guy, I whish I had a dressier shoe with arch support. I live in Florida. Thanks- just discovered your channel.👀
Very nice sandals, I can only wear OOFOS sandals and shoes ( due to bad feet), but Oofos, while comfortable, are aesthetically ugly, would you be willing to custom make a nice pair of shoes/ sandals with oofos type sole?

Jennyanydots 85 ladies normally can wear 1 1/2 size less than men in sandals. Our smallest men’s sandals is a 13. Email us at customerservice@potterandsons.com and we’ll do some measuring for you to see is a 13 Mens will work.
I actually wear a mens size 15, not women's. I don't even know what size I am in women's shoes. I haven't worn women's shoes since middle school (I'm 35), and I was wearing a size 13 in women's then. ..... I just have humongous feet 🤷

Unfortunately, these are the last of the classic bridle. You’ll love the bison though. Very soft, but durable leather.

Really cool. From my personal experience the leather center toe strap (men's sandals) always breaks. I have owned at least 20 sets of leather sandals, and the center toe strap always wears down and snaps after about a year of normal wear. It takes a lot more abuse than you would imagine.
I actually won't buy sandals with leather in between the toes, because I know it is going to be the point of failure.
I'm sure you aren't interested in using nylon, but nylon center straps can handle the abuse, it is more comfortable, and will last for years without maintenance.
Perhaps a cotton or a cotton polyester blend would be an acceptable compromise.
You just need better leather, properly constructed!!

Hello from Florida. I have been watching your videos for a several months and I've finally broke down and bit the bullet by finally logging in. Thank you very much for your informative videos, I have learned a lot in what goes on in leather shoe/boots and now sandals. I have a couple questions. First, do you repair Birkenstock sandals? I have a pair so worn out that the cork has broken down and the rubber sole has nearly worn through. This is the burning questions I've had for months, I just never bothered asking y'all until I saw this video. Second, regarding the leather. Do you use only cow hide or other (such as bison or deer)? The differences between the sole leather (thicker/denser) verses the uppers/tops (more malleable) is because they are from different areas of the hide? That is just a confirmation question. Oh, and thirdly, I have a pair of boots, GH Bass, that I wore for several years, hiking along trails in Florida all the way to North Dakota that needs some TLC. Thank for any answers and assistance!
