Thanks for the tutorial Chris, very helpful. Question if I may, how would I use this function to get the number of unique values, instead of a list of text/names itself? I mean, total number of unique values in column G, if G was zipcodes instead?
Chris, My boss gave me a spreadsheet where there was bunch of data which has multiple lines with the same number. He did a Unique function further below to get a list of unique data, Under Column 1. He asked me to copy and paste the formula under another column 2 which has number of days, and it provided some data. But data stopped halfway and wouldn't complete rest of the data entry. I tried copy and pasted the formula from line one after leaving a space on Column 2 and it just copied the same data again. Not sure why and why not the formula worked on rest of the data?
Can someone please explan how we also can the get the number of repeats for each unique value? Similar to Countif to ge the total number of each value within a coulumn?

I’ll be trying these at work. I work at fraud and a lot of charges/adjustments are shown on excel. I used to use the conditional option to see the shipments without any credits but I don’t know if it’s because there are a lot of filters too, but more often than not I don’t get what I wanted. Hopefully this is a better option.

Here is your answer. I added Count to Unique. drive.google.com/file/d/1Ujg9shUhJ7BkzBXkD3ohP9pu-9o_NbNI/view?usp=drivesdk

Thank you! How do you turn these unique records into column headings?
You have to manually do it. You think they would come over automatically, but they don't.
Great tutorial, thank you! Is there a way to find distinct values from many columns (e.g. containing names)?
Yes. Use UNIQUE with the TOCOL function. A screenshot is here. drive.google.com/file/d/1afrgXputTNr_0qVJHKLc-1Z86XzjlnJG/view?usp=drivesdk

Is it possible to make unique case sensitive so ABC is different from abc?
How can we use this unique function to get unique items from multiple worksheets
Does this formula available in excel 2016?
Hello, Darren. Unique and other dynamic array functions are only in Microsoft 365 and Excel 2021.
It'd be nice if UNIQUE, SORT and FILTER would work on Excel for Mac. Get with it Microsoft.
I believe they are in Excel 365 for Mac. At least according to Microsoft support they are.
