  • The Female Bluebeard - Serial Killer Saturdays
News of the Times Episode 249 | 1843
This story from 1843 was considered shocking in its time.
Sarah Dazley (Daiseley) was attractive, flirtatious, and strong willed. Having seen her mother use her own charms with men to get ahead, it would seem that Sarah had learned by example.
As was usual at the time, Sarah married young and had a child with him. And then the series of mysterious deaths begins. Sarah’s case is not helped in that she seems to move to another husband very shortly after who also conveniently dies. She is on potential husband number three when she is caught.
We take a look at this famous case and the woman the press dubbed “The Female Bluebeard” in today’s episode of Serial Killer Saturdays.
    Hosted by Robin Coles.

As always I enjoyed your video. It was very lucky for #3 that he listened to the village gossip. I wonder how many other men have come to a bad end because they didn't listen.

😆We could not possibly comment! (but secretly, fellow team members are saying hear! hear!) Yes, he had a lucky escape that one - her kill gap was rapidly shortening....🪦

Sarah was truly a despicable woman in every sense of the word, poisoning two husbands and her infant son. Even though they weren't able to determine that she poisoned her first husband, I personally believe that she did. Did Sarah receive financial gains from the deaths of her two husbands and infant son? Was she mentally insane? It's fortunate that the third man didn't marry her and listened to the town gossip about her for his sake! Great investigation, presentation, backstories, illustrations, photos and videos, as well. Take care 🦋

Well spotted! Yes, she did financially gain, although not for vast amounts! We think she just liked to kill. You are on the same page as the village gossip and the authourities - all were quite certain she had killed her first husband. Not a very nice woman... 😡

How evil to poison a baby. Poor little mite had to have suffered terribly.

😆 Well said! You would not think with how many cases there were at the time that any man dying in convulsions after loving care from the wife would be an auto pass, but it was in so many cases... 🩻

Wow!! Being married to Sarah was a VERY dangerous experience!! Hubby No. 3 had a VERY lucky escape!!
I also feel SOOOOOO sorry for poor baby Jonah!! He must've had a HORRIBLE, painful death, bless him!!
May all of Sarah's victims RIP!! 💔😥🌹

Yes, she was a dangerous person to know if you were a male or a child! 😡Poor child - we do not know if the child had been female whether it would have stood a marginally better chance of survival...RIP indeed. 🪦

a female bluebeard is a black widow.

    • @newsofthetimes
      @newsofthetimes  7 місяців тому +1

Heya - thank for the comment! 👍We think the papers named her a female bluebeard nstead of a black widow because it was s series - one right after the other with a third on in her sights. We believe, at least at the time, that their definiation of a black widow was that it could be just the one off. We used the term "Bluebeard" because that is what the papers referred to her as. 🕷🕸
