This has been my daily carry for almost 10 years. I have the Skinner blade with the serrated edge. I modded it by ordering and installing an Ulti-Clip so I can pocket or waist band carry. If you wanna know how I do it, please feel free to ask. It is great as a regular pocket knife if you install the ulti clip. Pros: Retention is excellent. Nobody one is taking this knife out of your hands. Even people with Butterfingers will find that it is difficult to drop by accident. The handle is small, but excellent. It isn’t rubber but a rough plastic that provide great grip. Cold steel also sells a sharpener for serrated edges. I bought the one with the serrated edge so I can use it for daily tasks. Also, for self-defense, the upper half of the blade is sharpened like what he shows in the video. Cons: The handle is short and if it were just slightly longer by like a half inch, it might be better but like all knives it takes practice deploying it. If you practice deploying it all the time you will get good and quick at getting to your weapon. I don’t have many issues drawing the knife. You can basically use your thumb to press against the kydex sheath and it will deploy easily. Another con is, if you’re wearing thick gloves, this will make the knife very difficult to properly hold or deploy. I know it should go without saying that gloves make holding knives more difficult but because this is a smaller knife wearing gloves, especially puffy ones will probably affect your ability to hold this knife well. So just keep that in mind I’m not saying it’s impossible, but take this into consideration when choosing outerwear. Con is the fact that it’s a neck knife. Again, I strongly recommend installing an Ulti-Clip and use it as a pocket carry. You will thank me later. This is about as useful as any neck knife, but it is a great concealable, reliable, fixed blade for pocket carry if you make this modification. Lastly, I don’t know if the Skinner is still in production which is a shame because it provides the best retention out of all of them, IMO. The Bowie and Tanto are easy to find however.
@@Qorvus “Slim 3.3 Ulti Clip”. Two brass grommets will need to be removed. Use a drill or knife to bore out the kydex holes a bit until the screws fit. I attach the clip vertically along the straight edge of the sheath (back of the blade). Took 30 min from start to finish just because I didn’t want to over drill the holes and trying to figure out the best placement for the clip, but now you don’t have to worry about that since I told you. Yeah, the clip is great. Once you slip the clip into place there’s a latch that closes and it’s extremely strong. In fact, it’s nearly impossible to remove without unlatching it. once you’ve clipped it on it’s on there permanently until you unclip it. It makes drawing the knife easy. It is not a simple flimsy clip that you just slide on. It’s locked onto your pants or belt. Hope this helps!
Love my Mini Tac Bowie style knife!🔪⚔️🗡️ Ive carried it on my waist for the last two months and decided to go without it the last week, big mistake. Its such a convenient slicer and stays decently sharp for a few days before its too dull to easily cut thick ass cardboard. I replaced it with my Spartan but its too inconvenient taking it out of my pocket over and over. Good video 👍.
Improvements on the Cold Steel knife: #1 decrease the depth of the finger choil. You are sacrificing a LOT of strength by taking away that much steel when you don't need to. #2 pancake sheath -- ALWAYS better #3 a better steel
hey bro , great vid n content there , if you come across anybody that wants to trade/swap/barter a 5 max blade , let me know asap please , thanks n we'll talk soon . tom !
Cold Steel makes some quality stuff.
Great blade shape!

Which ulticlip model did you purchase for it and how well does it clip to your pocket? Regards

Good video 👍.
Looks like a reg izula 1. I thought the izula 2 has the number 2 next to Izula
In the woods or on the job site, nothing around the neck.
Neat knife though.
I own a mini tech I like to slip in my back pocket right next to my wallet and my primary EDC front pocket 4 years 😊
I saw this on sale at TSC..almost got it but no lol
It is a decent knife!
They're being discontinued, but $9.99 if you can find them in stores at TSC.
Love the knife, hate the sheath.

Don’t use paracord around your neck 🙏 unless you have a deathwish 😮💨
@@OlafThorbjorn It is fine with a breakaway connector. Thanks!

It never occurred to me that this knife was to be used to fight.
