Just re watched this! Thankyou very much Major Henson and John - a brilliant and concise account of what was a great couple of raids.
As mentioned great respect to the Airforce - the Blue Jobs were amazing and with such limited resources really.
Once more thanks John and Hannes for recording these times.

At Box: I believe the story as I had experience of flying over a so-called refugee camp only to discover we were taking heavy fire. Why would a refugee camp fire on an aircraft?

The greatness of the Rhodesians is to unite as they always did , brothers in arms they fight the good fight till there is no more fight left to fight. Resilience and determination was implemented here , all the combined forces worked as one fighting machine , the resulting in successful missions like this one . Makes one very proud to be a Rhodesian and part of this fierce family of warriors . Long live all Rhodesians and good bless them all . Salute ! Tatenda John and Major Henson . 🙏🏻👏👏

The Rhodesians had an unshakable belief in themselves. It seems unthinkable and inconceivable the Rhodesian military with so few troops (I accept many are 'tier 1' operators) would conduct an external to engage such a vast number of guerillas. It's so audacious and one of those stories that is too astonishing to be believed. It deserves to be made into a film.

More like unarmed refugees mate which Rhodesia justified as a guerilla camp. Don't be so naive

@@seanperrings8460 yes sir. Rhodesia rarely attacked combat training camps, refugee camps were softer targets for them to spread their terror. The worst was the women's camp attacked about same time. Bravo!

Now this what I have been waiting for during this whole series - more detail of specific events. Stories are great but when amazing achievements are just glossed over it rather defeats the purpose of talking about them. Great detail, geat interview thanks to all involved!

    Great. Concise and fascinating.
What was achieved with so little bears testimony to the Rhodesian army Air force and bsap

Thanks for all your efforts to present this and especially to your eloquent guest speaker, major Henson, for the more detailed account of the operation. Greatly appreciated.

Thanks John and Nigel. What a modest account of such audacious raids. The Rhodesian SF were second to none; lean and mean. Ad definitum finem.

Thanks for this John. When Major Henson speaks of the storm coming back, we were in a group of 6 G Cars and 2 K Cars that had to put down on the front lawn of a Farmstead about 35 clicks from Mt Darwin. Should have seen the look on the farmers face standing on his front stoep with his FN in his hand.

These raids against highly motivated, heavily armed terrorists, equip with up to date equipment and 'on-site' Communist back-up,
were great feats. The terrs probably felt invunerable due to their vast numerical advantage. These raids, and hundreds of other ops, show that, during the Bush War, Rhodesia possessed the best fighting men in the World. Others may contest it, but accurate records prove it beyond doubt. To continue prosecuting a war for so many years, with so many huge logistical and political obstacles hindering them, is a most remarkable achievement. Churchill's, " Never in the field of ...blah blah", speech was obviously propoganda 'spin' BS. Britain was saved by the U.S.A; fact. Britain would have been buggered without the Yanks..Rhodesian fighters fought professionally and very ferociously, with resources that other Western powers would never venture to go to war with; fact...Years ago, one of my Uncles told me that he won two medals fighting the Germans in France in 1940 : one for running, and a second for swimming. Says it all.
