    If anyone wants to make this a seamless loop, instead of keyframing the texture mapping - change the Noise Texture dropdown from 3D > 4D and keyframe the W value (the W value is the basis of seamless loops for noise nodes). W is just a random seed

    Hi, Thanks a lot for your tutorial, it's exactly what I need for my project! That said, I don't know why but when I click on the displacement only (the step at 4:55), the 3D shape of the letters does not appear. My typo is still flat. And then, when I unplug the base color (the step at 5:28), my text disappears and when I get close to it, I can only see black dots. If you have any idea what I could do, I would love to hear it!! Cheers!!

    • @toericht

      Hey There thanks for watching and the comment :) a few things you could try/check:
      Are you in the rendered view?
      Are you using Cycles? this sadly wont work with eevee.
      Is your plane subdivided enough? you can do that in edit mode or with a subdivision surface modifier.
      is the displacement node plugged into the material output?
      do you need to increase the strength of the displacement ?
      Sorry it's hard to guess the problem without seeing it, but i hope one of these things might be it. If not feel free to write me again and i'll see how i can help :)

    Excellent video!!! Question: Would it be hard to displace the text, as you did, onto one side of a cube/rectangle (an object with some depth/thickness) so as to be able to create a stl file for 3d printing. I think you could expand your audience and get a lot more subscribers if you created tutorials that were also relevant to the 3d Printer community. I mean you're already creating the tutorials anyway and this is good stuff. Just create objects that could potentially be printed as physical objects and not just as digital media. Just a suggestion! Thanks!

    I really liked the video dude, one question how do you get the noise texture to loop perfectly so you get a smooth repeating video? Tried using rotation but it was too fast and i had no idea how to slow it down

    • @toericht
      @toericht  3 роки тому +1

      Hey There :) You could maybe add a driver to the rotation value and dial in the speed. there are a lot of tutorials on driver on youtube.
      Another way to do it would be using the displacement modifier instead of displacement in the shader nodes. then you could parent the coordinates of the texture used in the displacement modifier to an object and move the parented object in a circular motion so it ends up where it startet.

    • @toericht

      if you delete them they're usually gone. if you didn't do anything after you can undo your steps with ctrl+z or cmd+z. if that doesn't work you can just add a new plane and apply the material you've created witch the text and displacements. also make sure to subdivide the new one again :)

    Thank you for your work! I've got a problem with this - my noise's to peaky. I've been playing around scale and details, but only height and number of peaks change, peaks remain not so smooth as in your tutorial. I'm using 3.0

      hey :) have you made sure that the mapping node is set up the right way? maybe you could also put a color ramp after the noise and decrease the black or white value to soften the effect. hope this helps you somehow

    After I switched to rendered view and cycles at 4:41, my image still looked the same and the white was still there. Confused

      what do you mean with white? make sure that all nodes are connected properly and all the settings for displacement are right

    hey guys, I'm at the 4:40 mark, using blender 3.5.1; When I go to switch to cycles the white background on my text remains. How do I get that to be gray like in the video? thanks in advance

    is there any alternative as to the way how the image was created in photoshop?

    • @toericht
      @toericht  3 роки тому +1

      Hey There :) there are a lot of free alternatives to photoshop. You just need to be able to create text and blur it somehow. I heard "Gimp" should be quite good and it''s free :)

      Hey there :) you mean the 3D one? sadly you can't get this one anywhere because it's a custom typeface we created for our logo. But we might make an usable font out of it and sell it in the future :)
