That was a great game for the first Patreon lists of new Legion. I’m excited my list got to play the last game on that Tatooine map. Glad it’s going to a good home. Beam is very good now. That Cody list is pretty similar to one I’ve been thinking of running. Surprised it worked so well with such dense terrain. Sorry about the list Don. I made it pretty quick into the new rules. And by the time I thought more on Cumbersome, and revised it, you’d already played this. But it looked like you made pretty good use of the E-60Rs. Replacing two with E-5Cs and giving Asajj Tenacity, probably wouldn’t have changed much. I’m glad you got good use out of the Droideka and the Super Tac.
The timing you guys have for your videos is always so perfect. So far every day work has made me sit in a spot and work on shelves has been a day these new legion videos have been able to play while I work to help be less monotonous. Finally signed up for your Patreon after procrastinating XD kept telling myself "I need to sign up when at computer" No idea the my, my, but you guys made me think of George Takai's "Oh my." which is a real win in my book. Beam was really cool to see in this game. I play Rebels so rarely see it.
Loving seeing all the beams at work, makes me want to try it out. Just wanted to remind Joe that on his synchronized offensive turn he would have gotten an extra order off the Cody Direct. It's a trick I love to use with droids and clone lists.
Beam is definitely great keyword now. Also b1s being in range 1 to each other helped. Few times Don shot ISP from the side so he should have impact 1 from STD or GG. Probably won't change a lot. Great games guys.
Beam def tearing things up. New ISP feels quite good with the beam guns, really not sure why you would take the other options now tho. As for R2, he still has to move over 18 inches to score his secret mission in almost all objectives (Breakthrough is the singular exception) which will take him at least 3 rounds to do without extra movement via blast off or aggressive negotiations (or Leia's NTFS if played in rebels). The need to start a round in the enemy territory and end there means you have to have bonus movement for him to potentially score earlier than round 4. Just about anything to delay him, like using repair/calculate odds or simply an enemy unit in a position that can threaten the kill makes it nearly impossible now.
"Beam, Beam, Beamed him up Scotty,"... Well done with that one! Great game, loved it, hate to see the terrain go, but excited for what is next from you guys!
Storing maps like that are definitely hard glad it going to see more love in the future with people who would love it. The beam attacks with Cody seems great!
Hey what a great tight game. A great send off for the Tatooine board. A really dense layout is interesting! Very different game. Also I just magnetized beam cannons for my own ISP, so good to see em in action.
That is an awesome table. I'd love to make something like that. I'm curious what the buildings are made out of. Glad to see the beam weapon doing well! And to see Assaj on the field. I haven't played against a Dooku Assaj list yet and I'm curious how it does. O.o
Beam me up! Those ISPs were really beaming their beam around. Fives is insane, ISP beam is insane, the republic is really strong in the new rules. I love Grievous and droidicas as welll! Great game! I'll be sad to see the table go, but I do agree it's more limiting. It will always hold a place in my heart though, since my first patreon list was played on it.
well Beam really became dangerous... thank you guys to show it, this changes really how you choose your targets. close game, because the republic always killed more they closely won this fight. but it was always more costly for them to lose any men. less big army
Oh no, I thought Don had it for sure, but that Fives unit was a beaming ray of sunlight and hope for Joe. So sad Grevious couldn't get those points to give Don the win. Also, that was so sad the clone commander died just to rob Don of his magnas scoring. What a loyal trooper he was
Sad to see the mat go but it’s going to a good cause. Shout out to Archon Dan and Big Woody for such amazing lists! Great game as always guys hope you have an amazing Labor Day weekend!
Great game to watch, beam is up there among the biggest keyword bumps with the new rules. Keep in mind that for intercept signals you can gain intel tokens from POI’s you are securing at the end of a round, so the Super Tac could have gotten on and made a run to contest R2’s point
Beam me up Snotty! Yeah, not having 2 chopped off the total without fail from old cover rules really makes Beam effective in the new rules, hope to see a few more weapons utilize this in the future!
Beam, Beam, all of the Beams! Beam me up! At 21:00, the ISP is a hover vehicle, which means it's treated as a ground vehicle for LoS. So it does block LoS!
That is correct. He would have had to move out a bit more to make better use of it as most of the time things I was shooting as beyond range 2. Thanks for watching. -Joe
Well, George Takei (and Belldandy) are "Oh My", so I guess this is a Skyward reference. I do think this was the first time I've seen beam do something worthwhile.
Round 5, Grevious end up around the location where the magma guards died. The primary and secondary asset token should be there for free action claim for the extra point needed for the win.
@@graysquadrongaming8670I'm sorry I did not understand. The magna guards were carrying the recon scanner and Intel asset token correct? And died after being attacked by fives the previous round at about the same location where Grevious is at. A free claim action within 1/2 range would have scored the winning point
@CharlieNeo intercept the signals doesn’t say they drop it nor does it say they can pick it up. It says at the end of each phase if you are securing a point you may give two tokens to two different units. Thanks! -Joe
My bad. Intel token is not an asset. But the recon scanner is. Unless you did it off video. I do not think Grevious score the recon point with the free claim.
Great game, when the lists were revealed I thought the cis would win easily with their sabers and rockets, but those opening beam shots really turned the tables!
Beam me up Scotty! Glad to see beam has gotten better since I always run the saber tank with the beam turret (white defense die HATE this one simple trick)
Don, you gotta apply for colour commentary work at NFL games and boxing matches. Case in point: Don: (After Joe blanked on his attempt to kill Timmy the lone B1) "Oh dear. Oh bother."
In the current iteration of the game i'm so conflicted on the choice between the E5S and the E60R for the B1s. Can't really decide on 1 or the other. And regarding the B2s, I think they're scarier than the large clone squad, the amount of HP on the board is ridiculous, it takes Vader 3 rounds to hack and slice through them with near perfect rolls, and that's saying something. They're also such a HUGE threat that most people can't resist committing their strongest units against them.
Didn't I read in the new rules that a die can only be rerolled once. So if you spend an aim isn't the result of that roll frozen after the aim reroll. So if you don't have an un-rerolled dice you couldn't roll for observation, right?
That opening Beam did not tell the story of how close the match was going to be at the end. Great game and nice chat at the end. i don't think you guys weren't keeping the Trek references going with a George Takei "Oh my" were you?
I'm hoping they are going to rework secret mission next year with the rest of the updates. It feels like it's way worse than bounty in terms of getting extra points. Alternatively, they could give GAR access to bounty to balance the factions on that aspect.
The game was over end of round 1. Why did Don place his b1s at range 1 of each other. Who cares about order control in a situation like that? It's not even as important as it used to be. Old droid habit.
Great game guys! That was a really close game in the end. Those beam attacks put in some serious work those first few rounds. Keep up the great work!
They really did

Loving seeing all the beams at work, makes me want to try it out.
Just wanted to remind Joe that on his synchronized offensive turn he would have gotten an extra order off the Cody Direct. It's a trick I love to use with droids and clone lists.
100% forgot about his direct until later that round. Thanks!

Beam is definitely great keyword now. Also b1s being in range 1 to each other helped.
Few times Don shot ISP from the side so he should have impact 1 from STD or GG. Probably won't change a lot. Great games guys.
He did 5+ dmg to them in a single shot so probably not but good to call out. Thanks for watching!
-Joe
Oh my, Captain! George Takei loves the beaming up! I have always loved the double beam ISPs, and it seems they are even better!
They are something but we were not going Star Trek on our little my my quote. It’s from an audio book
Love these videoes. It actually helps my friends and i learn the game
Thanks for watching
Awesome close game. Thanks for posting. Beam attacks away!
Thanks for watching!

Winzik from Skyward! Been thinking about gettting into the hobby. Thanks for the great videos!
Perfect! It’s a great game and community. Thanks for watching!

Nice work

"Beam, Beam, Beamed him up Scotty,"... Well done with that one! Great game, loved it, hate to see the terrain go, but excited for what is next from you guys!

Yeah for sure
The beam attack with Cody slapped
It sure did
1:02:38 Grevious have Relentless, still i only notice one action being taken when he desided to shot with his pistol.
Yes he does, I thought Don dodge or aimed after but will double check. Thanks!

Smashing them out lads, keep them coming.

In the immortal words of Yoda, “beam me up, Scotty”.

This one is the closest one i see with the new rule! Beam that clanker!!
It was a close one unit the very end. Thanks!
-Joe
Good game, gents. Good to see a game go the full 5 rounds. Smiles all around for the Republic. They were practically “Beaming.”
Yeah very close
Interesting to see how that beam worked out. Some of my buddies have been theory crafting about how to best make use of it.
It is much stronger in new legion for sure. Thanks!

Beam me up Snotty!
Yeah, not having 2 chopped off the total without fail from old cover rules really makes Beam effective in the new rules, hope to see a few more weapons utilize this in the future!
None of my factions have beam yet so that would be nice -Don
Love the video. Good example of how beam can cripple an army in the early game. I've been noodling on pairing the ISP with a beam saber tank.
Yeah that would be deadly to mass units
I recently played the isp with beams worked very well and always had multiple targets to take advantage of it.
It does work better now with the new rules. Thanks!
-Joe
Beam, Beam, all of the Beams! Beam me up!
At 21:00, the ISP is a hover vehicle, which means it's treated as a ground vehicle for LoS. So it does block LoS!
Yeah that’s how we played it and why I had to move up to see over it. Thanks!

Just as a reminder the super tac now has exemplar... there wouldve been multiple occasions where that couldve been pretty relevant :)
That is correct. He would have had to move out a bit more to make better use of it as most of the time things I was shooting as beyond range 2. Thanks for watching.

I'd really like to see a list with the most beam and gun slinger possible just make all the extra attacks possible haha.
lol this was pretty close to it. Thanks!

Great beam shots!

What a close game. Was fun to see it go all 5 rounds and down to kill points. Can't wait to use my best ISP.
