Turkey Tourist Train: New service aims to boost visitors to east

- A new, cross-country train service has opened in Turkey. It aims to attract a new generation of travellers, taking them from the capital Ankara, to the far-eastern city of Kars. TRT World's Suheil Damouny went along for a ride, to find out more.

A dream of mine is to visit Van (a city in Eastern Turkey). This train system will greatly help for that as I can visit many cities on the way to Kars and then from there I can go to Van.

When I visited turkey last year, it's very difficult to book trains to other parts of the country, because, it takes at least two week before you travel.

if a it was start in istanbul -Izmit Burza-Izmir-Eskişehir- Ankara-diyarbakir-Gaziantep antab-adana-Trabzon
Turkey is rebuilding much of its conventional rail and adding many miles in another 230 years it will be a country with many more miles of conventional rail and will be amazing to travel by rail. In a few years youll be able to take this same trip by high speed rail in a matter of hours
need high speed train from Istanbul to Islamabad going thru Ankara, Tehran and Kabul

Is this normal train or bullet train ?
Normal train, I believe 80km/h. Highspeed rail is not opened yet to the east. Only available between Istanbul, Ankara, Polatli, Konya, Eskisehir and Kayseri (not sure if Kayseri opened yet or very soon). Lines aimed to be finished within 1-2 years are Bursa, Bilecik, Yozgat and Sivas.
