Hi George and Su thank you for showing the next part of this vlog I’m not sure what to say on this as it’s hard to find the right words on this but I must say it’s still a shame on what’s happened and I’m still trying to imagine how lovely it once was and I hope it gets sorted out and re built back up

Hi George and Sue . Thank you for the video. We went last year. But you guys have shown us a different area. We know families who lost their homes and livelihoods. It's so sad . Maybe on day things might change for the people of Cyprus ❤🎉

thanks for the videos again george and sue,but it does break my heart what the turkish did to famagusta,& here tourists are paying turkish lira/money to come and look at the greeks desroyed homes and lands.breaks my heart watching in disbelief, but i do watch for educatonal purpouses history ect. i just cant believe the turks are making money from tourists just to see the ruin and sadness they done themselves years ago😢
Thanks for your videos anyway george & sue,god bless 💖

    I am English
I looked up the history of why the island is divided and Turkey definitely Did Not invade the island the Turkish people were getting massacred by the creeks so Turkey intervened to save there own people so for me it was a rescue mission and not an invasion

There was so much that went on before 1974. The island has a very black history.

Thank you pedropete, as turkish cypriots are a minority we don't have a voice so this is rarely said. Well done for looking into it, most people don't 👍

@CakeWedge think more people should be aware of 1963.

      Hi Pedropete
This particular issue is extremely sensitive for both Greek and Turkish Cypriots. I dont know which sources of information you may have accessed during the course of your research, but George is right in saying that the origins of this conflict go back many decades long before 1974. As with many major events the official version of the truth here is different to what actually happened. Many bad deeds were done in the name of both Greek and Turkish Cypriots. However, the fire was being stoked on both sides by a "particular" people from further afield (neither Greek or Turkish), in order to achieve a desired outcome. This template has been used for a very long time and is still being used today. Whenever we are told about two groups of people in conflict with eachother, you can be sure that the instigators are sat watching from the sidelines. Thank you for the video George and I look forward to the next one. Delish!
