wow. This is difficult to describe, what he has done with this. It is like a Polonaise+Mazurka=Ballad in the hands of Sokolov. He transforms the piece like I have never heard before. The rubato is spontaneous yet it fits into the whole structure seamlessly. He plays with sublime intention. It is like he has penetrated the structure of the piece as a whole. He found the key. Just supreme artistry. He sure sets the bar high. Now I want to see if he has any ballads posted here
