Great explanations on file linking. I understand the typo at 26:35, where the heading should be "Link Consumed Revit Models" rather than "Link WIP Revit models." - not to be confused.
Thank you so much Deepak. Great explanation on file linking options. I have always been using all these methods for linking however never came across a clear explanation on them. Very useful demonstration. I would like to add my experience on desktop connector linking, desktop connector linking doesn't work in attachment mode (when the main model is linked into the other model), we'll not see the non workshared cloud file linked with desktop connector.
I am in need of help with opening up project models from auto desk onto revit and having the links linked.. i am new to Revit so i might not make any sense but arent the models meant to be linked already when you open up a model?
Thank you for this, with regards to the last option - if rather than the consultants uploading their model to their respective folder we asked them to issue it via the swim lane I assume they sender would need a BIM Collaborate license? Would this license in-turn also mean that the view would be visible online whereas the current option 3 does not?
At about minute 7 you say that you need a minimum "Create" permission but, provide no clear reason why. I've tested this out and even with View permissions live linking works inside of Revit. Was that for something else to work inside of the design collaboration module?
If you have a model open, and a live link is updated, you must reload the linked model for any changes to display. Just doing a regular Sync operation will not show the latest version of the live linked model. Of course, when you first open your model, all links are updated automatically and you always see the latest version of the linked model. But during the work process, you have to Reload the link to get the latest changes.
im working with 3 different architects, now when i want to link with one of those it doesnt show their files in my docs, only shows the other 2 architects, why? and thanl you for the knoledge

Hi@@AutodeskCommunity1 thank you the repply! I'm able to see it know, but i have more questions! hahaha is there any course or course link for bim360 that you guys recommend? my issues are the following, 1st the link project have some coordinate different that mine, example 1 level in the arch link says -22 and when i match that level in my end shows 8000' the other issue is that i open the arquitect model from the autodesk docs in my computer (the architect is not mine) and it says that its been moved but it does open in, I haven saved, or moved anything! :(
i want to share... but not everything. i'd like to share a model that has stripped out 2d drafting views, sheets, notes, general code sheets, etc. i know i can save a file with all this stuff removed... but how do i incorporate in the design collaboration workflow, with packages?

I have same issue 😢
Helpful video! It would be great if each of the topics he covered can be sectionalized since there're quite a few of them.

does live linking bring changes directly when synchronize to central, or after reload the link in manage links dialogue box makes changes to appear
