I've test-driven a GAC before and man you really have to drive (or at least ride in one) to believe it. It's not just about power or interior finishing, it's how the vehicle performs in such a refined manner. The NVH, transmission, and the suspension tuning really tells you the company has proper engineering chops to put together a vehicle at par with its japanese counterparts. But as much as I like this GS8 and a believer of GAC's quality, the issue with this model is the pricing. At 2.3M I wouldn't mind topping up 190k more to get a CX-9, yea I may not get the bigger screen, sunroof, etc. but I get a vehicle of the same class with proven track record plus Yojin 5 and a better drivetrain.
What engine are they using? Are they borrowing engine from other automotive company or its their own cause i cant lie i actually like it but with that price tag gotta keep safe...
Kudos to GAC design team! This is the most beautiful front fascia luxury SUV I've ever seen here in Phil. Better than the Japanese counterparts.. #DreamSUV 🔥
These Chinese brands are killing it!! And it's putting pressure to the main brands here in PH to step up their games, usually kasi pag dating sa PH market stripped down na yung mga features
Good torque because they're using electric turbo. GAC is actually the first to use electric turbo for production cars (F1 tech?), not Mercedes.. just that they never advertise this In their local market, they also have a hybrid variant a Toyota hybrid system mated with their own turbo engine and torque converter automatic (not using Toyota's CVT) and that transform the drive to be a lot more engaging and perhaps fun to drive. And most countries have AWD GS8 either this or the top of line hybrid model.
Id rather choose the 2019-2020 GS8 model. It has better features and has Manual AC controls which is better so you don't rely too much on the infotainment
Nice car. The Escalade is a much bigger car. The Range Rover is a little bigger and nicer. But I like it better than the Palisade, which is about the same size
I know that Chinese cars are deceiving and skeptic, but will the GS8 break that stigma? It can take on the Explorer, Santa Fe, LC Prado and the like. Although I still prefer the next-gen Ford Everest to this, this can be an alternative to those who are still new to cars until they realize that the Japanese and US competition could still be reliable. Still waiting for your take on the next-gen Everest, especially the 4x4 Titanium+ variant.
Agree po sir, until chinese cars have 5 years more than 100k odo with little to no issues then probably they are a good deal. but the truth is chinese cars are only good around the city, i have been to 90% of Mindanao (only except basilan and tawitawi), then most of visayas islands due to work, I have not seen one chinese car/s traveling outside the city. mas marami pa kei trucks.
5 years? Well at least si Geely started 2019 and we still see now in 2023 many of their cars are still on the road. One more year to go then, at least for Geely. But I’ve driven several GAC’s and I can say the impression they give is they’re pretty solid in initial quality.
@@almotor yes sir, 5 years is pretty small amount of time, but at least for car loans w/ 60months, if the owner have no issues with the car ( be it parts or the quality of the car itself) before the loan is over means its a solid car. its worth the price.
"I know that Chinese cars are deceiving and skeptic" di ko gets pano naging ganito when they give you the best in it's price. Reliability and spare parts given na yun. But to say na deceiving, can you elaborate on that part.
Ganda ng GS8. Di pa nasabi ni sir Vince ung adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist ,EAB and other ease of driving . Chinese car companies are definitely keeping up their game. Bsta mag ready lang ng parts para totally wala ng masabi sknla haters. Do a review changan CS55 naman sir vince & autoindustria bang for buck din un.
Marami naman parts, ang diko magets is yung mga distributors na ayaw mag-imbak ng parts kahit marami na naka chinese cars dito. Yung geely underground nakakapag imbak eh yung sojitz hindi.
eh clearly you are not the target market for these type of vehicles. stick to wigo or vios na lang if concern ka sa reliability, parts at kung ano ano pa 😁😁
My dad said that same can be said to Japanese cars of the 70s TBH LOL. The Japanese were the copycats back then. Can't innovate, short penises, etc. kasi nauungasan nila US economy. But now, they're no longer a threat and therefore allowed to be "cool".
I don't understand where all the stigma for Chinese cars are coming from. If it is only because you hear it from others, then do not immediately join the bandwagon. Do you own research, test drive, ask reliable sources. Before, I am hesitant to Chinese cars but now, I have one and I'd say it is one of the best decisions I have made so far. Take note that I used to own a Japanese car.
Escalade and GAC should never be mentioned together even if calling it a Chinese one. This Chinese junk is nothing compared to an escalade. A V8 compared to a 2.0 L-O-L

@@ezUpshift_Media Not sure about this particular model, but according to GAC the engine in their GS4 is from Aisin.

Just a correction: The GS8 doesn't have Apple Carplay. Mirroring only. It's the Empow that has Apple Carplay. Sorry about that 😅
When the Empow can have it, why cant GS8. Hope GAC will introduce it in the model.
Sir question, if you have the money, which one would u choose, GAC GS8 4x4 or HONDA CR V HEV RS? Thanks in advance

Very stunning design 🔥❤️ Chinese Cars are really killing it !
Suddenly, I have a strong desire for this car without considering its origin or manufacturer.
same 😬
Malaki paba yan sa ford everest?
Boss hows the after sales? Like pms?

I did quite some research regarding this company and particularity this GS8 because I'm really interested in this car hopefully my future car 😅😅😅
We actually checked with GAC PH just now. This GS8 doesnt seem to have the E-Turbo. E-Wastegate it has.
Solid Review as ever Sir Vince!
Very impressive.
That breath option tho 😅 but over all very impressive suv.
Hahaha! Nice touch of humor for there Vince! 😆
Gotta love your fit sir! So nice po haha

I'll rather go with smooth line design than sharper and too much
Calling it an Escalade is such a stretch
im here because of ALICE...

Never compare this mid vehicle to an escalade
