    They do mention not to install beta version of IOS on your main machine, as it is not a finished stable version

    I also have the iPadOS 18 Beta on the exact same iPad Pro M2 and I have considered downgrading because the update was well... underwhelming. I was expecting more. And there were a few crashes here and there.
    But the point is, if the bugs are mere annoyances and don't make the device entirely unusable, DO NOT DOWNGRADE. Downgrading is RISKIER than upgrading, period. You are better off just waiting for the public beta than downgrading. And hey, you can enjoy the new features without installing pesky stuff from Internet. I have considered downgrading and using my backup, but when I saw the whole process, I changed my mind.

    "Not repairable" is a default Apple answer, it does not mean it is truly irreparabile… there's 3rd party tools to exit recovery and there's also DFU mode for the cases where a recovery restore does not work

      @iseptimus 2 місяці тому

      No, honestly, it corrupted the USB-C firmware. Literally, no third party tool could do anything with it as it can't communicate anymore. I didn't try the dodgy Chinese software downloads that aren't apple signed to be fair as I like my bank accounts where they are.

    I was stuck in a boot loop after installing iPadOS 18 Beta 2; but the technician was able to use Apple Configurator on his non beta computer to do a restore. Incredible relief. I feel your pain.

    I had the same issue. Putting the device into the deep DFU mode and doing the restore fixed my issue and a lot of others too (from a reddit thread).
    Entering DFU mode takes a lot of tries but is possible even from the recovery mode.

    I am also 16, owning an 11-inch M2 iPad Pro, and runs beta software on all of my Apple devices, for a few months after WWDC before going back to public released software. The thing to keep in mind is that beta software can ruin anything, including recovery mode, it happened to me on iPadOS 17 beta last year and going back to iPadOS 16 is impossible, but it didn't break my iPad at least

    thats crazy. i think the issue could be fixed with changing our the memory but its just easier to replace the ipad as a whole. if you wanna mess with operating systems its so important to be covered so thank god you had apple care

    Hey man, just wanna let you know that if you’re doing iPadOS 18 beta versions or iOS or macOS or visionOS you gotta be more aware about these betas. If you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into don’t download it. I know you wanna try out some features. I know you wanna try out like we do, but there’s just too much of a risk for people like you because it’s like you said you download it on your iPad and it just malfunction and it was not working anymore. I’m glad you got your new iPad but to be honest with you if you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into with these iPadOS iOS, beta version then I wouldn’t download it.

      I appreciate you saying this. I have tested betas for a couple years now, and know what I'm getting myself into.
      I made the video to let other people know what may happen if they try the same thing. Thank you though!

    Don't do Beta - ever - eva.
    Tried that with iPadOS 17 beta something last year.
    Absolutely killed my iPad Pro. Would not turn on at all. Under warranty, returned to Apple and got a new Pro

    Did you try using Apple Configurator 2 on a Mac while the iPad was in DFU mode? That can often bring a "dead" machine back to life, unless there is a proper hardware issue.

  • @iseptimus
    @iseptimus 2 місяці тому +1

    Mine did the same thing. Apple express changed it. It's fine on iOS. Apple could not fix it. Same 11" iPad Pro M2. Turns out it blows out the USB-C controller.

    "ideally going to Apple Store is my last resort " why is it so hard to just go to the apple store.. "I'm 16 years old..."..wait what.. 😂you look way older than 16

    • @MIBProductionsAL
      @MIBProductionsAL  3 місяці тому +3

      It's mainly just because it's inconvenient with the distance. And also yeah, I get told I look older pretty often 😂

    Did you have enough free space on your iPad storage?
    I've read (and experienced) borked upgrades and downgrades over the years where insufficient storage space was the issue.
    Oh and always listen to your parents. :)

    • @MIBProductionsAL
      @MIBProductionsAL  3 місяці тому

      Man, that probably is pretty important to pay attention to. As far as I know, I had sufficient storage however I didn't fully pay attention.
      And will do!

    something like this happened to me one time, I had an iPhone 11 with a beta version of iOS 17, I bought an iPhone 14 Pro, set it up and when it prompted me to update the phone to the beta, it got stuck partially setup. It was impossible to shut it down, entre recovery mode, or even connect it to a computer. I took the iPhone back to the store and they offered me a new one, I then waited for a stable version of iOS 17 to release and updated the new iPhone. After that I successfully transferred my data to the new one.

      Wow! Yeah I tell you, the betas are fun to use but they can cause some issues for sure!

    Any new hardware you buy from Apple you should cover with AppleCare! It’s usually only available for two years after purchase but certainly worth it! Also remember: if you use beta software, you can get burnt! Make sure you have at least one copy type back up (e.g. physically copy the files from the Mac to a memory stick or other media)!

    Sounds like you didn't put the iPad into DFU mode prior to trying to restore...

    • @iseptimus

      Same shit happens when in DFU mode as well. Mine was reset. Then put into DFU. It bricked. It's something with beta 2.

    I've heard of this in the past, so I'm super weary of downloading any beta's these days. As much as I want to try iOS18 early, it's not worth ruining my iPhone 15 Pro Max over some cool features. I tried iOS 11 and 12 betas on my iPhone X and XS but ya, wouldn't take that risk now. I'm not good enough at "getting into the framework" of electronics like younger people. I used to be ahead of the curve in the 90s with computers but fell super far behind, very quickly in the early/mid-2000s when I was in college ironically.

      Sorry by the way for your loss bro, I would be FURIOUS if that happened to me. I know Apple covers their asses by writing into the beta contract that they're not responsible for it bricking your device...I really hope you're able to find a way somehow to fix your iPad man
