Brock is such an amazing guy. I called when we were having troubles with a map we installed in my built busa and he answered the phone and talked us thru it. I have so much respect for the man. In Brock we trust.
I just don't understand how some people can give a thumbs down to this kind of info, from this caliber of rider. I started on on cable clutch bikes with heavy springs, you had a hand full back in the 70 ties . Know with these new style clutches and hydraulic clutches things are much easier to get a grasps of and make smooth.
After watching this i kinda care less about winning and more about just learning and having fun. Thanks for the link. First drag experience is tomorrow. If I lose every race I'm cool with that it'll be a learning experience. It's just a test a tune my local group put together
I'm sure a lot of guys are too proud to ask, so it's great for you to put this and others in your series on how to drag race on your channel. I know a few guys I've forwarded it to. A lot different launching a stock w.b. bike vs a streached one imo
one of my life goals?!?!?!....meet brock davidson... this man knows his shit. and im not even huge on drag racing im more into road racing. and i bet i could learn alot.
Did something similar on a friends 500 Kawasaki triple many years ago, but it didn't end well. I've been out of the game for about 30 years and recently picked up a '88 Suzuki 1100 Katana when I retired (Still like the old bikes) and would love to be able to pull off a launch like that.
Respect Many P. 😂😂😂keep enjoying your Kawasaki...back then was it a GPz 550 or 600,cause here in Greece me and my Filipino bro had a bunch of those up to the great GPz 900cc,lovely machine.. cheers bro💥👊
Depends on the what kinda crb it is 250 you probably gotta launch at a way higher rpm to get a better launch, then say a 1000 you have to launch way lower rpms
This is what I've been looking for, had a blackbird that I could launch at 4500rpm, but I've been struggling after 6 years of not riding and now owning a gen 1 busa. Been feeling clueless about how to go about launching it out of the hole. Going to try 2500rpm launches next time I'm in "mexico" and work from there to find my comfortable with the new bike
Lol, r6 max rev is 14k-16k (depending on model year and limiter) so if you launch at 8k you gonna fly to the fucking moon because at 11k rpm r6 tears your soul out of your body
My issue is that when I’m releasing the clutch on a hard launch, I have a fear that I won’t grab the left handlebar quickly enough and will fall off the bike. Anyone have any tips for this?
Are you using only two fingers on the clutch? You should have a strong enough grip with just the index and middle finger on the clutch but if not you might need to adjust your clutch lever.
Usually I give it like more than a quarter throttle because if i dont then I might let the clutch out too fast and I wont be putting any power down, or you just have to give it a lot more throttle once you have let a little bit of the clutch out?
He lost me when he said leave at 2500. I don’t know as much as him so I’m listening. I’ve a noob compared to him no doubt, but launching is my strong point for some reason. It’s been natural for me I think because I came to bikes from drag racing cars. Leaning more degrees I need work. Riding Wheelies I need work. A lot of areas I need work. But I can leave hard af. But I’m seeing him leave now I’m at the end of the video. He’s leaving fast af. Idk if the busa is different from my bike that much but I have to leave at 4500. To stay smooth and fast out in the 60’
@GSXRoyce...2500 does seem low. I believe Brock's brief masterclass here (2500rpm) is just a starting point and confidence builder. Brock is much to smart to tell folks to dump the clutch at 8000rpm(+). He kept stressing start of slow and build up. The sweet spot on launching is a personal choice after a rider knows what he/she is doing. He definitely doesn't want to kill potential customers...lol
Hard to believe Brock is wearing a Shoei helmet. You will never see any serious drag racer wearing one at the track. However, he offers good advice on how to sixty foot your bike. leaving at low rpm on a 1000 does not work because they have no low end torque.
Is he on the track, no, he’s set up for comfortable street riding. Not dissing a Simpson helmets. Shoei have all the Snell ratings and others as well rated for racing.
I like running wheelie bars, air shifter, studder box, supercharger, etc that way you can leave wide open nothing like it the world it's like being strapped to a rocket, that was slow as piss out of the hole I piss faster than that

It's so impressive knowing how much those big bikes way and fast they take off like that so cool

Great technique tips. Another thing is understanding the concept of how everything works internally in the bike. Brock’s edu is textbook 🤟🏽
Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast
True story
Love the cameraman putting the lens in Brock’s face

I have the same color looking Hayabusa, love it.
Brock, you should offer classes.
Thank you brock iv been wanting to launch my cbr but bit thing about launching at 7k rpm like people do now i knw u dont have to

Always filmed and performed in "Mexico" 💯💯
how to prevent it from wheelie on 1st and snd gear when doing this? do we smoothly having the back break applied from start?
THIS IS MAGIC AMAZING BIKE FANTASTIC I LOVE THIS BIKE
Riding a 600 is a bit different. RPM’s are 6-8 and a lot dragging the clutch. As said smoothness is where it’s at.
I would even say 8k+ rpm. Of course it depends on your bikes engine.
Very true. Have you ridden a big bike?

No doubt
I have some of those HD gloves. The flow a lot of air.
Thank you!
Had a Katana 600 and i used to smoke gixer 600s all day because they didn't know how to launch.
I believe it

Practice at a low RPM. There is no need to leave that hard in the beginning. My ETS got better when I dropped the RPMs on the launch.
Are you using only two fingers on the clutch? You should have a strong enough grip with just the index and middle finger on the clutch but if not you might need to adjust your clutch lever.

You got the better busa
You can , just install a anty lock up clutch 😎

No he lives in Dayton, Ohio. Cycledrag is from PA
I love it
When he did the demo his arm was up and not straight like he said it would be.

Brock was talking about keeping his wrist straight.. not his arm.

Hi can u make a bike keyless?
I run 1.8s 60 foot on my 850 pound bagger.

Robby King yes but riding a bike without all those handicaps truly brings out the skill of a rider and exposes those who don’t have it.
Any body can be fast with a wheelie bar
Whoop whoop. It’s a street bike with no add on’s.
Two different sports. I like them both.
