#24Shift. Love shoulder taps to encourage girls to not only hit the correct handstand position, but to maintain the correct position. Thank you for aharing!
Non-gymnast, now optional and upper level xcel coach here. The gym I’m currently at lost its main head coach, who then took all that info with them when they left. My biggest area of concern is program development. My drill catalogue is in a constant state of growth, but applying them to to the program over time is where i lack understanding. How many weeks of implementing strength and shaping drills for a… clearhip lets say, before you let kids try it? OR am i in the wrong mindset completely? Love the videos, great commentary! Keep ‘em coming!
Thanks for watching! This is definitely a tricky one given the context, but I think it’s a combination of constantly adding drills, and shaping to help improve their strength, but also letting them play a bit with skills. A few weeks of focus on shaping and basics, then can start trying skills a bit. If you go all drills, it gets a bit boring, but if you go all skills, you may not have the basics in place. Hope that helps!
