I mean like hypercharge when you playing against the bot
It's great! Glad to see no microtransactions thrown in your face for skins etc and the gameplay is addictive and keeps you coming back, really belongs on the switch I just hope the player base stays grows and stays active - but then again the fact it's fully playable offline resolves that.

I love their channel because of their performance section. Digital Foundry spent weeks to review switch performance in immortals but these guys had it since launch day and kept checking the updates

I wish they would bring the original plants vs zombies to switch. Plus the touchscreen would be a nice feature on a switch version.

They need a multiplayer version. The Xbox 360 pvz1 version with multiplayer was awesome, but they should release pvz2 with fully fleshed out multiplayer for switch.

Perfect style of game for the switch. Just like crash bandicoot 4 it looks like a great port. They need to make more quality cartoon style games likes these. Kinda like ratchet and clank.

All plattforms MUST make games like PS4 does. I mean, all it comes to PC is X-BOX shooters alike games... warzone... i really want more cartoonish games.

I just picked it up on sale for Christmas for five bucks. I was so addicted to the first one that came out the original. I got all the way through and I still went back and kept playing it. It was so good cause it really challenged you some of the comments say they’re not gonna do updates because people are Showing it you know attention but this is such a great game. I love it it’s funny it’s fun you know when you just don’t know it’s just a really fun game it really is it’s not like you gotta be so serious about. It’s just a fun game. I don’t know what to say, but I am so happy. I picked it up through the Nintendo shop for five bucks, you can’t beat that I think it’s on sale to January 5, 2024. I’m not sure but five bucks that’s cheap from 30. I’m so glad I read your review I was going to get it anyways because I miss playing this game so much I cannot wait to get into I am 56 and my grandson just turned me fortnight that is his favorite game so I am trying to get into it because you know you gotta play with the kids play and he gets such a kick out of me playing with him. He’ll be like Gigi stay in the jeep and go kill these two bad guys and I’ll be right back. We have so much fun and now I’m gonna turn him onto this. He’s never played planet versus zombies my bad, so I just can’t wait. I can’t wait to see other reviews that you have. This game gets more attention. So if you can try to go to the Nintendo store because it’s five bucks right now.
Been wanting to get in to this but doesn't have any other console or decent pc but now on switch all the memories of the original game and the wacky chaos gameplay of this just reaches out to me

This is the second video I've watched and I'm glad this series is finally on a Nintendo platform plus plays well! The first PvZ GW was so much fun. I may pick this one up soon as well.

Originally didn‘t plan to get this, but damn this looks good. Definitely picking up a physical copy soon. I just wish there was a splitscreen mode, I remember there being one in GW2 I believe.
There is on the Xbox version of this game I know
Splitscreen is only available on PS4 & Xbox One versions of BFN
Which kinda sucks because this would be a really fun game to play on one console with multiple people with you.

Technical issues or low budget
Nice one Mark, brilliant overview. I literally bought this last night for PS4 for £4, but probably gonna get the Switch version too. Left bugging EA for a code till too late :( Does look great though and nice to see Frostbite finally make it over. Maybe get some decent FIFA/Madden action soon. Cheers for the review.

Love this review! One problem with it though is when you talk about the match making. It took longer for you because you were playing in the review period and it doesn't seem many people got a review copy, so match making should be faster after launch, though for how long I don't know. Not a big deal at all but I think it's something that should be noted.

Yeah I'm not a fan of transfer to 3D. Mario, Worms, PvZ, and I miss isometric Fallout.

I've not played any of the previous games but after seeing this I think it maybe something me and my lad can play. I never understood why they couldn't bring Frostbite sooner because it's always been a very nice scalable engine(EA not thinking the Switch would sell well probably). Seems stable and a lot less fuzzy that a lot of Unreal ports. Anyway, you guys have become my first stop for reviews on Switch ! Keep em comin'!
If you are looking for the best plants vs zombies game, its GW2. This one's ok, but I wouldn't say getting it for switch if you even have a ps4 or newer
I love the original defense games, but so much time into them across multiple platforms, just played a few levels even last month. Never tried the newer style shooters but it does look good with the upgrades and goofy combat looks. Love shooters that let me tweak my loadouts in depth, especially when they are balanced well.
Nice review! I'm a huge fan of the GW series and still actively play the first two to this day. I tried getting into BfN but it just couldn't hold my interest for long. Honestly I feel they should've just ported GW2, much more fun and like 100x the content.
It looks so good! However, some bad news is that the game isn’t getting anymore updates since not many people liked it when it came out on consoles and PC, shutting off quite a bit of content. Hopefully like GW1 and 2, there will be a bounce back if switch sells well. This game is an underrated gem.

I tried so many times to like this game. It’s terrible. Confusing mess. Redownloading and trying yet again right now, but I’m surely going to be let down. The original was so much fun.

Looks great and something i'd wanna buy (if i can get my Internet problems sorted out as it wouldn't be as much fun playing offline only). Great review as always.

The first garden warfare was my first xbox game and I fully completed it, and played the second one for years. It lacked a lot of the charm the first one had in my eyes but it was very fun and creative.
I sold my xbox and always missed playing these games, and when I saw battle for neighborville I was severely disappointed. However, seeing the switch version and how good it is makes me so happy and glad to have a switch. I wanted to wait for a good and thorough review of the game before buying it and this was amazing!

Another first class review guys! Just one request I have is would it be possible for you to always show some handheld gameplay during your reviews. Raw handheld stuff where you see the console and the persons hands holding it. I’m a switch lite player so it’s great to see how games look on the smaller screen. I always come to your channel for reviews then end up searching for the same game with handheld or switch lite footage to get a peak at what I’m in for visually. Cheers ☺️

@Dirt_on_Diamonds I did. I played it for a bit and then found myself a bit bored with it, then got distracted by other games in the end.

Ah, was hoping this would surprise me like *Starlink:* *Battle* *for* *Atlas* did. That the *Split* *Screen* *Co-op* would make it into this version too.
Now this looks like a fun game. I know these are cheaper and superior on other platforms but it’s the portability that gets me every time time. Might be best to hold off until it goes on sale tho to lighten the ££‘s spent.

Just picked up my copy and so far I'm loving it. It's my first time ever playing a game and I love my choice. But it's hard to maneuver using little joy sticks that feel so foreign to my fingers. Wish there was an exercise to improve maneuvering through all kinds of terrain while aiming and shooting targets with precision. It's going to be a long while before I can get good.
Its finally here 😎 time to see how good they planted this one to the switch haha

As someone who used to play this on Xbox One X - this is a brilliant game if you can look past the flaws it has and the downgrades compared to the Garden Warfare duology. Highly recommend it!
I would still be playing it, but alas, they shut down support as of September 2020... really bummed out about that as the PvZ Shooters mean so much to me. There was much content intended for the game, but they could never finish it - most notably a new Plant class, being the Iceberg Lettuce. You can look up gameplay of the incomplete class to see just how awesome it would've played.
Credit where it’s due, I’m glad they brought a decent game and finally EA bring the Frostbite engine to the hybrid platform, properly. It’s a step in the right direction. Great video Mark

This actually looks pretty fun, got to admit. Like a month ago I downloaded all PvZ titles from EA access... All of them required creating EA account, wouldn't even let into singleplayer or anything. That made me mad, so I ended up playing just the original game, which is still quite fun.
As soon as this goes on a decent sale, I'm getting it. It looks awesome!

I'm really hoping pvz bfn introduces a lot of new people to the pvz franchise, because the people who seem to hate this game the most are people who were already fans of the franchise, and dont like the changes

I'm new to this game and I love it. I don't understand much of the hate.
@@obeysquirrel same on the struggling to understand the hate. Basically, the game before it had a different artstyle, and this one introduced redesigns if the characters. Also, the way the character variation was handled is different. In this one, the focus is more on creating your own characters by customizing upgrades. In the previous one, character variation was already done.
None of the differences are really bad, just different. The game before this had a way too passionate fan base to see the differences as what they were

I''ll most likely be getting this. I used to have this on Xbox until i sold it as it was lackluster but this is much better
There are two things I should talk about when it comes to this game
1) It's rather funny, and sad, that this game has its entire package on one cart, while Overwatch only has a download code. Kinda funny that EA is putting more effort in their Switch ports compared to Activision
2) If this is a prime example of the Frostbyte Engine on the Switch, then I'm looking forward to seeing other Frostbyte-based games on this system(Looks at Dragon Age: Inquisition)

I never got into this series back when it first released but with the online multiplayer on the Switch which I am enjoying with other games, it might be just the time for me to check out the hype. Now should I go Team Plant or Team Zombie.....
This looks like a spiritual successor for Team Fortress, no? With a lot of added features. Love it. If I can get some friends motivated, I will be picking it up. Thanks for the review.

Don't sleep on this one people. The Garden Warfare games have way more depth to their combat than you would guess. It's my favorite online shooter only second to the battlefield games. Highest recommendation from me. 🍄🥒🌽

I dunno, EA didn’t bother to announce a Switch version of Mass Effect Legacy which is two gens old and should easily run on the console.
So I wouldn’t hold your breath for a Fallen Order port, the most likely use of Frostbite going forward is for their money-spinners; FIFA and (if we get lucky) a port of an older Battlefield.
They did Mass Effect 3 on the WiiU and it didn’t sell well.
Nintendo fans love their Star Wars games.
@@scottharvey938 Yeah, but EA pretty much swore off their support from Ninty after the failure of their IPs on the Wii U (and to a lesser extent Wii). They’re only (slowly) starting to reinvest into the Switch, so keep your hype at a low level.
PvZ seems like a low risk release beta that serves to confirm whether Frostbite can be ported and work on the console, rather than a pledge to the IP. There are more profitable franchises using Frostbite that can be ported to Switch. FIFA is priority no.1 as they can earn billions from Ultimate team. Everything else is secondary. Mass Effect and Dead Space collections could theoretically sell well, but you can’t monetise single player games enough to justify it to shareholders longterm, especially when they require porting from x86 to ARM
So glad the reception for this is great I was worried that EA was gonna kill the pvz series after them dropping this game and support for it and the whole pvz3 thing praying that they don’t mess up GW3

Must own on switch imo up there like splatoon series for me , this series is super fun I hope the series continues or EA don’t drop this series don’t let this series die guys show support and buy this on whatever platform you own to show support and interest that our community doesn’t want this series to end cause imo we need more fun shooters like this. I’d love to see ports of pvz 1-2 in a bundle come to switch as well cause this game fits switch so well especially with on and offline support or gameplay of all modes
Hey switch up is the story mode online coop by any chance. Me and my wife bought a copy and neither one of us can play together on separate switches in the story mode regions. Seems like the only portion that is actually multiplayer is the giddy park, main area, and mp game modes.
